Defund the police and let the gangs and other criminals run rampant and increase efforts to take away guns from law-abiding people. That works./s

Cal spends 33 billion a year on services to illegals; so lets cut the police and fire fighters, and close the prisons.

“”The budget proposes numerous ways to make government more efficient and reduce costs for taxpayers, including cuts on inmate spending”

“Data shows concentrations of public employees for each state”

California

State/Local FTE Employment
883,408

State Gov. FTE Employment
235,973

Boy oh boy, just what are they going to do? I know what they won’t do! In Kalifornia there is One Government sloth for every 17 none Gov. working Californians. Now that’s efficiency for you. Gubermint Managers and Supervisors are on cruise control, little is being asked of them to right the ship is my bet.

California’s projected budget deficit is expected to top $100bn by July.

And right now they haven’t cut spending even by a penny.

I think they expect Biden to bail them out.

Where are all the chirping fools praising Gruesome when California posted that phony $98B surplus funded by federal giveaways a couple years ago?

Finally——finally——someone here talking about a minority.
The Californian without a criminal record. Except for expunged juvenile ones.

They have a convention in a vacant FotoMat booth behind a vacant video rental place in the parking lot.

Here are a few ideas, just off the top of my pointy little head:

STOP FUNDING ILLEGALS in any way, shape or form!

CUT YOUR BLOATED STATE GOVERNMENT across the board by 50%, if not more!

These Governors are amazingly stupid. Criminally Stupid. Mind-Boggling Stupid!

make government more efficient and reduce costs for taxpayers, including cuts on inmate spending.

What a laugh! Government run by the likes of Newsom "more efficient?" He'll never reduce costs for taxpayers! A new gas tax, effective July 1st will raise the cost of gas in the state, already ≈$5.00/gallon.

California has the highest marginal tax bracket for individuals at 12.3%....California has the highest state and gas taxes in the United States

The "cuts" to inmates will come about from Newsom closing the prisons and releasing the inmates back onto the streets.

76,000 inmates are eligible for early release: In May 2021, California increased early release credits for tens of thousands of inmates, including violent and repeat felons, to further trim the population of the state’s correctional system.
