Up until a few years ago, the FBI used to be a studiously non-political organization. Now they're the willing storm troopers of every instance of legal overreach instituted by Democrats in search of political enemies to punish, draconianly, of course. This is and should be illegal.
To the extent that they have been caught in legal malfeasance, particularly of the politicized kind, they've walked away with slaps on the wrist if not complete impunity. Start with McCabe himself, who got fired for leaking to the press, which he knew he was not supposed to do, but did anyway. His subsequent lawsuit restored his full pension and he's now living high on the hog. Who says crime doesn't pay?

It’s not just the democrats who use the FBI as their own personal gestapo but the entrenched and corrupt Republican party members as well. They are two sides of the deep state coin. Both will fight tooth and nail against any wholesale changes to the FBI. McCabe was protected by his own kind and rewarded for it for it financially.
The FBI isn’t even that old. It has existed only a bit more than 100 years. The longer it exists the more corrupt it has become. The result is that it exists not to fight crime but instead to go after those who threaten the beast power....the deep state.
I don’t think it’s going to happen but IF Trump somehow manages to “win” the election despite the massive cheating and propaganda of the deep state then he needs to eliminate ALL positions above a certain level. In fact he could do this by offering very generous pensions but in return revoking security clearances. Who cares how much it cost? They will at least be out of the way. He then needs to appoint a strong willed outsider with an immpecable crime fighting record who will focus number 1 on real crime and not political agenda crimes.
It’s a Herculean task. One of Trumps biggest mistakes was leaning too heavily on Washington insiders for their ideas about political appointments. They are all snakes and can’t be trusted.

I'm sorry, but that statement is simply delusional. The FBI at best actively covered up the guilty parties who assassinated a US president. Most likely they actively participated in the assassination. You might see the deep state as being largely non partisan, and that is true to a certain degree because it is strictly them versus us, but that entire organization has been nothing more than a federal gang of thugs for decades.
