Every Republican who got him on the ballot is a useless eater.

Come on - ballot access should be easier, not harder. Sure the DNC messed up, but do you really think he shouldn’t be on ballot?? This was a no brainer

Not to mention whoever votes for them in the primaries.

The DNC-since when is it our job to do theirs? The fact that they messed up proves they run the country the same way.

Compare this to what they are doing to Trump.

But let’s change the law to give Biden every courtesy.

The ripple effect.

This not only helps Joe Biden but it helps other Democrat candidates on the ballot.

If Joe Biden were not on the ballot, it would have dampened the enthusiasm for Democrats to go to the polls and vote. Sort of like an off-year election. Why take the time to vote if your presidential candidate is not on the ballot?

Rules for thee , but not for me. The democratic mantra. Make the dems jump through hoops, after what they’ve done to trump, the jan 6 political prisoners, inflation, the price of gas, and just plain being nasty people who think homeless people shitting on the sidewalk is a great way to launder political slush funds... sorry, either be smart enough to check file dates before you schedule your convention, or be shown for the dumbasses you are.

What we really need are fewer morons who think it was a good idea not to change the law. Exactly what did you expect to accomplish??

All you managed to accomplish with that threat was giving the Democrats an excuse to nominate Biden virtually before the Chicago convention. Meaning that you've just reduced the chances of a massive, embarrassing crap fest complete with riots and protests at that Convention. The Democrats have been desperately looking for chances to minimize the the bad press, and you idiots just handed it to them.

Also, because the nomination will happen before the Convention, there is no longer any reason for Biden to appear personally. Meaning you've eliminated one major opportunity for Biden to embarrass himself with a major public speech.

Hell, the Democrats were so eager to seize that lifeline you just handed them that they're keeping with the virtual nomination even though the Ohio GOP finally wised up and passed the bill.

Oh, and you also managed to hand the Democrats a counter to GOP attacks for trying to keep Trump off the ballot in Colorado and other places. Now, they'll say we did the exact same thing to Biden in Ohio. And sure, you can claim this is somehow "different", but that won't matter to independents who will just see both sides as trying to prevent a fair election.

Considering how popular this "keep Biden off the ballot in Ohio!" strategy seems to be among a certain ilk, maybe we really are as stupid and ignorant as Democrats claim.

Yes, I’m sure the Democrats would be just as eager to help Trump get on a ballot if he missed a deadline.... this is why Republicans are the loser party

Since Ohio changed its certification deadline from 60 to 90 days ahead of the general election, state lawmakers have had to adjust the requirement twice, in 2012 and 2020, to accommodate candidates of both parties. Each change was only temporary.

You are ignorant of the facts.

The Democrats hadn't yet missed the August 7 deadline for notifying Ohio of their nominee. That would have happened only if they'd waited until their Convention to nominate Biden. But they already announced last week that they're just going to formally nominate Biden before the Convention. That was an obvious route to get around the issue. So, the deadline won't be missed and Biden will be on the ballot regardless of whether the GOP changed the law or not.

Do you really think that the stunt the Democrats tried to pull in Colorado helped them politically? The Supreme Court slammed them 9-0, so all they did was look petty while accomplishing nothing. Sure, trying to remove Trump from the Colorado ballot made some of their radical base happy, just as this thing in Ohio made some in Trump's base happy. But to everyone else, it looked like a petty effort to avoid an election.

Just because the Democrats did something stupid is no reason for Republicans to follow suit.

And that is exactly why the courts in Ohio would have changed the deadline even if the legislature didn't. It demonstrates that having the deadline 90 days in advance of the election served no rational purpose, and would simply have served to keep one party off the ballot. Anyone with experience practicing law in Ohio knows that's what our courts would have done. Of course, there was another obvious workaround that the Democrats took advantage of anyway.

You're just an idiot. The deadline was August 7th. Today is June 3rd, so perhaps you can explain how the Democrats missed a deadline that is still more than 2 months away. How about getting informed on an issue before commenting next time?

I beg to differ. TDS hurts Democrats politically among independent voters. That's why Trump's numbers went up after the Colorado fiasco. Democrats pandered to their base, and it hurt them. There are tons of Republicans and independents who aren't fans of Trump, but detest the way the Democrats have acted so they support Trump anyway.

They've just been hurting themselves with this, but they are prisoners of the most radical elements of their base and so do it anyway. I don't see a reason why we should emulate their stupidity.
