The camera seems to be in an early 70’s Chrysler.

Reminds me of “Tondo” in Manila. (Lots of videos on youtube should you wanna see what I’m talking about).

(In all fairness, it’s like the beginning of Tondo, or Dharvi in Mumbai. But give it time, it’ll be the same.)

Wasn’t long ago the old media would shout from the rooftops about how bad the homeless situation was.

Of course that was only when a Republican was president

These are Bidenville’s, which, are the updated versions of Hooverville’s, during the great depression.

This reminds me of the remote and dangerous encampment depicted in the documentary “Gone With The Wind.” Innocents passing by were subject to attack and worse.

As I recall the depredators were under federal protection. Still, the area was eventually pacified by concerned citizens. What happened once could happen again.

Housing is expensive. Permitting takes forever and is also expensive. If they allow open drug use they might as well allow open flaunting of housing codes and zoning.

Yep. Take away liberty and citizens need for law and order, this is the result.

I’m from Oakland....left the Democrat party in 1985 and the age of 21 when I realized they had no clue how to run a safe city....in spite of their rhetoric. Last year, my son (who lives in Oakland) had a gun put in his face while walking to his car after work (Shook us up pretty bad). Any politician, mayor, police chief that runs on ‘tough on crime’ rhetoric has zero chance of getting elected. The way into leadership i Oakland is to scream about the ‘system’ and blame all the blight on ‘systemic racism’ even though the (mostly minority) Democrats have been running that city for over 60 years. Oakland politicians respond to the worst element in that city because that’s where the votes are. And criminals aren’t interested in safety as it turns out. International Blvd is a war zone. Many parts of West Oakland are war zones. The area around the Oakland Coliseum (where that film was taken) is a war zone. Liberal Politicians will not or cannot fix it and also keep the support of their voters.

I am no expert when it comes to what ails society. But, I do know that it absolutely begins with people feeling safe. Oakland should quadruple its police force and keep it that way until crime comes under control. Social workers and all that other stuff has it’s role in preventing future crime. I think we all understand that. But, Police prevent crime tonight. Democrats just can’t seem to grasp that simple concept.....or don’t want to or simply enjoy watching their city burn. Pick one.

Ironically, most of the rich upper crust people in the east bay live in the suburbs of Oakland. They also vote Democrat even though they don’t dare step foot in Oakland...afraid of having to actually experience the very thing their support for the democrat party has created in Oakland.

I often ask a brain dead well to do liberal to imagine it’s at the end of days...and all society has broken down. Then I ask...would you seek safety with your fellow voters in Oakland or would you head to the central valley and join the Republicans you’ve spent your life mocking and voting against? I always get that pregnant pause as they know they’ve been check mated.

Still, I doubt they will change. They don’t see republicans as the hard-working middle class, tradesmen and heavy workers that they are... the ones who actually do useful work, fix and build all of the stuff that society depends on. No. Dems see the GOP as ignorant long-bearded country folk (think Deliverance) who drink moon-shine, drive flat-bed pick ups with a scared dog in the back hanging on for dear life, and who marry their cousins. It’s a brand the Dems put on us and the Republicans just can’t throw it off...as much as we try. It’s just sad.

How much does the Oakland Homeless Industrial Complex spend to “help” the residents of Bidenville? I can just see the staff of the non-profits using this video to prove that they need more money to “help.”

And, even more important, does Amazon deliver there?

You get what you tolerate.
What you subsidize you get more of.

All they need is a few Karens from your local Home Owners Association.
