Men and other mammals live longer if they are castrated, says researcher

Whether it is the fountain of youth or the elixir of life, men have travelled the world looking for the key to increasing their longevity.

They should be looking a bit closer to home, according to one leading researcher – although after they do, they might end up taking the years God intended for them.

When it comes to increasing the lifespan of any male mammal, “there is one way you can intervene”: castration.

Cat Bohannon, the celebrated author of Eve: How the Female Body Drove 200 Million Years of Human Evolution, said men went through life “smuggling two little death nuggets”, with research suggesting an orchiectomy can lend a few more precious years.

Speaking at the Hay festival on Friday, Bohannon said castration was a “way to make male mammals live longer”. This effect was observed in American men in the mid-20th century who were institutionalised, usually because of mental illness, and castrated, and in Korean eunuchs. The castrated men lived longer than their “regularly balled peers”.

“You can castrate it. Cut off its balls. Don’t try this at home,” added Bohannon, a researcher with a PhD from Columbia University in the evolution of narrative and cognition.

While it used to be thought that the average lifespan discrepancy was behavioural – “dumb boys doing dumb boy stuff” – it in fact “seems to have something deeply to do with the immune system and cellular repair”, she said. Males “get more infections” across their lifespan and “more cancer, and the prognoses in many cases tend to be a bit worse”.

A 2012 study published in Current Biology found that the average lifespan of 81 eunuchs born between 1556 and 1861 was 70 years, which was 14.4–19.1 years longer than the lifespan of non-castrated men of similar socioeconomic status.

You and yours first.

Lead by example.

Then you and yours won’t reproduce and the world will improve over time.

Why is this thing being paid as a “researcher” at Columbia?

They aren’t really living and they’re burning through their savings rapidly. Everything they’ve worked for is going away. Longevity doesn’t appear to be worth it.

It's obviously living to them. It's their money, and they prepared to spend it on staying alive to guide their family through life as far as they could. Wait until you break 70 and you will understand. Especially in today's world, the one driving force that keeps my wife and I going is to make sure our offspring will survive the coming hell that is staring us in the face.

“My grandfather is 93. All of his friends are dead. His second wife is failing mentally. He doesn’t work anymore and is generally cooped up at home. From the outside, it seems that longevity is more of a curse than a blessing.”

It’s like owning a Doberman. Dobermans have a lifespan of about nine years because of bad breeding practices many years ago, I will also note that they are trying to breed those problems out of Dobermans but I don’t know how far along they are... anyway, Dobermans live to be about 9 some people think that’s bad or sad but if you think about it - if a dog lives to be 14 or 15 the last four or five years of their lives they’re not in Optimum Health and they might be dependent upon the veterinarian to keep them vital at a large cost. And then they die pain ridden terrible deaths.

So, what’s better? A doberman living a full active life for 9 years or to live a full active life for 9 years followed by 5 or 6 years of failing health as in other breeds?

I really had to get on my sister a number of years back because she would nurse along dogs that she had that were being eaten up by cancer (mostly) and after about the 3rd one and thousands of dollars down the drain she realized that she was only keeping them alive for herself and not for the animals benefit which is probably not in the best interest of the dear pets.

Well, if all men wanted to live longer through castration, eventually, there would be no men and no humans.

If men got castrated, would they still have the urges to have sex, and if they do, men and women would have a very poor quality of life, meaning that, life would not be worth it anymore.

If God wanted men to live longer through castration, men would not have been created, and humanity would have beasts with self-procreation properties or abilities. Non-sexual/asexual beasts would equal a totally different species.

I’m 76, my father died 3 years ago at 94.

Am going to live until I die. And hold contempt toward those who want to tell me what to do. It is healthier. I take no prescription meds. Never have except for a few times an antibiotic.

The Jab was a good example of that. Neither my wife or I bought into that crap.

Yeah-maybe if she has them removed she’ll live longer.

Pre-emptive removal of breasts extends mammalian lifespan by eliminating the potential for breast cancer.

Science.

I am 70. My father’s body is alive but he’s gone. My mother’s mind is alive but her body is failing and is cared for by people she doesn’t know in places she doesn’t want to be but has no choice. They’re serving life sentences in prisons and their only crime is living. They both came from very poor families. Dad swore he’d never work in a coal mine and Mom wanted to get off the farm as fast as she could. All my life they told us they wanted to build something to pass on to their children and that’s not going to happen. My brothers and I are cringing at the possibility of a similar future.

The Age of Karen cannot end soon enough. My theory is that the ugly little troll never got enough balls when young.

I think that once you reach 70 years, most of us are ready to go when the Lord calls us home.

I've crossed that milestone, every additional day is a gift.

The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years...

My wife and I are both in our 70's. We have gone out of our way to create enough wealth to see us to the very end, and still be able to protect our children as best as we can. We determined the best way to do this was to be there for them for guidance, if nothing else. Although we will leave a lot to our kids, we pushed them into being able to create their own wealth, and not depend upon us to leave it to them. However, the world today has motivated us into staying healthy and alive, so we can prepare our offspring for what is coming.

Said the redheaded skank man hater that can't get a date

Nah, she is hot, and crazy. Also married with kids. She put this silliness out to help sell her book, and it worked.

The ruling class is really pushing castration.

The "trans" business is only one part of this.

Think of it. A simple operation that turns a man into a Democrat.
