There was a Seinfeld episode where one of the characters got addicted to the Kenny Rogers Roasters Chicken. That story could not happen today, wood ovens.

Laws are ignored by criminals, therefore there is no point in passing laws to curb crime.

And therefore it's only worth lawmakers' precious time to debate and pass laws that impede and annoy law abiding citizens...
