Russia pummeled Ukraine's energy infrastructure with a large-scale drone and missile attack Saturday, injuring at least 19 people, local officials said.

The strikes were part of a series of sustained attacks by Russia against Ukraine's power grid, which has been ongoing since March.

Ukraine's largest private energy firm, DTEK said that two of its power plants had been seriously damaged in what it said was the sixth attack on the company's plants in two and a half months.

The ONLY reason that Ukraine’s power grid hasn’t yet collapsed is because a decent chunk of it is nuclear, and unlike the Neocons that action WANT a nuclear nightmare in Ukraine (hence their shelling of the Zapp plant, which is held by Russia), Russia does not want a nuclear nightmare, and thus does not attack the Ukrainian nuke facilities.

...but soon enough, it won’t matter, Russia will simply take out the associated substations, when it makes sense to do so.

Will something bad happen when the electricity that comes from the plant has nowhere to go?

“Will something bad happen when the electricity that comes from the plant has nowhere to go?”

I was wondering the same, actually. I’m not an expert, but I suspect that as long as the cooling systems continue to run (which the Russians, of course, will not target, but the Neocons are targeting at the Russian-controlled plant), then they should be good.

True.

Russia will not destroy outside power to any nuclear reactor facility for safety and shut down maintenance requirements.

The rest of it depends on Ukraine's Human Rights violations.

Makes one wonder what is ‘in place’ already with the illegals and foreign entities, to destroy the US power grid ?

A ‘system’ requires a load. I do not believe the internal loads at the nuke plant will be sufficient to maintain stability.

I still fail to understand why they don’t go after the uke supply lines. It boggles the mind.

How does Ukraine plan to protect the squadrons of F-16’s soon to arrive from Russian missiles, drones and artillery??? When on the ground at an airfield, they will b sitting ducks.

Russia is already working over the airfields that can handle the F-16's located closer to the front and Odessa.

Likely they'll extend the included area West the day any aircraft arrive in Ukraine.
