Boeing Can’t Afford to Fail Tomorrow. The company’s years-long effort to fly astronauts for NASA has been plagued with setbacks. Now it faces a historic test.

Tomorrow, in Cape Canaveral, Florida, a Boeing-built spacecraft is set to blast off toward the International Space Station, carrying a human crew for the first time. The astronauts have been in preflight quarantine, getting some extra practice for the historic ride through flight simulations. The rocket stands tall on the launchpad, with the spacecraft, Starliner, perched on top. The weather forecast looks nearly perfect.

I wonder if the astronauts will get a dual named school or if each will get there name on an elementary school?

Coming soon: Wilmore and Williams Middle School.

Boeing’s craft will probably be successful. The real question is what does it cost to put the man in orbit verses Space X? Also what subsidies did Boeing get and also Space X?

but I doubt that we can predict it very far in the future.

Unlike man made climate change which we (scientist) can predict within a day when it will changes. /S (is it needed?)

I don’t even like flying Boeing Jets. These guys are getting into a Boeing Rocket? wow.

We fly a lot and the Airbus planes are so much smoother quieter and land so easy.

I’m calling it the LeakLiner since they aren’t going to repair that helium leak they have going on with it.

Interesting that our technology and piloting skills were so much better in 1969. We were able to send a spacecraft past the height of the international space station by 472,000 miles there and back. If only NASA had not accidentally spoliated all of the spacecraft design and data, we would have colonies on the moon. Even our ability to navigate to the moon using only sextant and stars was so much better than navigational computers today!

This morning I have already watched the Russian cargo ship dock with the ISS. Next is the Starliner launch. I hope the launch is successful for the two astronauts’ sake.

Next (if the launch is successful) is the docking w/ISS, then Starship launches #4 next week.

I have no wish to see another Challenger, or Columbia….

I’m all for manned space flight, but the government should get out of it- too many egos and politicians and regulators running things. Let private enterprise do it. Engineers, not politicians holding the checkbook.

People like Musk will succeed, it’s their money and reputation on the line, not elected mouthpieces who never take responsibility for anything….

I understand from everything that NASA tells us that they DO recycle their water. But I distinctly heard the announcer say this morning that the Russian cargo ship was carrying 900+ pounds of water this morning. I find that curious.

In another major technology initiative Boeing held a press conference yesterday announcing their newest product developed after years of testing and production failures...

The launch is currently on another T-4 minutes hold due to a technical issue.

Yup. Launch scrubbed. They don't yet know why the launch computer aborted the launch at T-00:3:50.
