Rumor spreading round
in that Texas town
About that shack outside La Grange
The other, almost equally as good, was by Van Morrison and them

Remind me to tell you
Bout the old silver miner
Name of hard rock Pete
Had his house built on a slope
They say one of his legs
Lived in Calico
Ther's a rumour going round
That the other lived in hope
‘22 Acacia Avenue’ by Iron Maiden
‘California Dreaming’ by The Mamas and The Papas
I suspect a generational difference here ;-)
Political Science - Randy Newman
Boom goes London
And boom Paris
More room for you
And more room for me
And every city the whole world round
Will just be another American town
Oh, how peaceful it’ll be
We’ll set everybody free
You’ll have Japanese kimonos, baby
There’ll be Italian shoes for me
They all hate us anyhow
So let’s drop the big one now
Let’s drop the big one now
‘L.A. Woman’ by The Doors
Eh ???
‘Black Bear Road’ by C.W. McCall

A real obscurity, it mentions NJ Route 69. What’s interesting is that eventually NJ had to renumber it as 31. For some reason, people kept stealing the 69 signs. My mom guessed it was the work of kids in the class of 69. Yeah, that must have been it.
As if I don’t have to hear that enough when we play the Vols.
Here comes the Silverton, up from Durango
Here comes the Silverton, a-shovelin' coal
Here comes the Silverton, up from the canyon
See the smoke and hear the whistle blow
Well, now listen to the whistle in the Rockwood cut
On the high line to Silverton town
And you're gonna get a shiver
When you check out the river
Which is four hundred feet straight down
The Doors-Alabama Song
Glen Campbell- Wichita Lineman
The Alan Parsons Project- Ammonia Avenue
‘Hollywood Nights’ by Bob Seger
Steve Earl - Copperhead Road
I love “My Elusive Dreams” by Glen Campbell and Bobbie Gentry.
Everybody's a dreamer and everybody's a star
And everybody's in movies, doesn't matter who you are
There are stars in every city, in every house and on every street
And if you walk down Hollywood Boulevard, their names are written in concrete
...
You can see all the stars as you walk down Hollywood Boulevard
Some that you recognize, some that you've hardly even heard of
People who worked and suffered and struggled for fame
Some who succeeded and some who suffered in vain
