My Kind Of Town (Chicago Is) - Frank Sinatra

Vera doesn't say where her trip begins, but I figure it's probably around Goodyear or Buckeye, Ariz. If she departed from further west, she would more likely go through Flagstaff, and if she departed from farther south, she would have gone through Casa Grande.
In any case, she would have had to hustle to get to Oklahoma in a day. From Phoeniz eastward, she would have taken Rte. 60 through Globe, Show Low and St. Johns, and then 191--all two-lane roads--before she could link up with I-40, where she would finally have clear sailing to Albuquerque and the Oklahoma state line at Texola.

This is the newest copy of our state song in my collection. I have three others from 1914. Very few Californians born after 1945 know this song.
As you might imagine my favorite song of all in this category is Rogers and Hammerstein's "Oklahoma". I also like Glenn Campbell's "Galveston",
I took a record number of pics yesterday at Chisolm Trail Park yesterday. Let's see how many I can get in.
How's everyone doing this morning?

The Tokyo Boogie--Moon Mullican (1952)
A great song for a different era. At present, NYC merits carpet bombing, not bouquets.
Skynyrd says it’s a real sweet home but it ain’t nothing to me.
