Ron DeSantis: Trump Verdict Represents ‘Political Agenda of Some Kangaroo Court’
Breitbart ^ | 30 May 2024 | HANNAH KNUDSEN

Posted on 05/30/2024 2:51:29 PM PDT by conservative98

The verdict in former President Donald Trump’s business records trial in Manhattan was the “culmination of a legal process that has been bent to the political will of the actors involved,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said in a statement on Thursday following the Manhattan jury finding him guilty on all 34 counts.

“Today’s verdict represents the culmination of a legal process that has been bent to the political will of the actors involved: a leftist prosecutor, a partisan judge and a jury reflective of one of the most liberal enclaves in America—all in an effort to “get” Donald Trump,” DeSantis said in a statement.

“That this case—involving alleged misdemeanor business records violations from nearly a decade ago—was even brought is a testament to the political debasement of the justice system in places like New York City,” he said, slamming leftist district attorney Alvin Bragg.

“This is especially true considering this same district attorney routinely excuses criminal conduct in a way that has endangered law-abiding citizens in his jurisdiction,” the governor continued, noting that this case would have never been brought if the defendant was someone other than Trump.

“It is often said that no one is above the law, but it is also true that no one is below the law. If the defendant were not Donald Trump, this case would never have been brought, the judge would have never issued similar rulings, and the jury would have never returned a guilty verdict,” he said, adding, “In America, the rule of law should be applied in a dispassionate, even-handed manner, not become captive to the political agenda of some kangaroo court.”

Trump delivered a brief statement following the verdict, making it clear that the real verdict will be on Election Day.

Trump has been ‘guilty’ since nov of 2016.

they just had to find the jury to convict him with whatever bs they throw at him.

ANYONE that’s lived in a blue state understands the corruption.

Trump needs to get squirreled away to Florida with his family so NY would have to fight extradition to get him

Once again, the Democrats have over-played their hand. I would expect serious repercussions over this. This was in-your-face criminality by the AG and Court, showing just what the Democrats have in store for the rest of the country.

That’s great, but if Republicans of his stature had spoken up in the beginning, the Democrats could never have gotten away with any of it..

Two fake impeachments
A stolen Presidential election
The Jan 6 frame up
Third world kangaroo courts

Every Republican should have been outraged over this - especially top Republican leaders like DeSantis. Democrats have been gang-raping the Republican Party 24/7 for eight years straight and none of them made a whimper.

Instead they turned a blind eye - no doubt thinking with Trump out of the way maybe THEY could be President. Barf.

LOL. a team player just standing on the sidelines cheering the quarterback as he is sacked is all Ron is doing. Ron-Duh should have gotten in the game and helped right the wrongs! Lots Governors or any decent Republican could be doing to stop a lot of the baloney going on in our country yet Ron and others doesn’t really want to get their hands dirty, maybe lose a little some thing in doing the right thing. They are a bunch of paper pushers and hoping to keep what God has allowed them, God says people like that will lose it.

Instead of flapping his gums he should be busting his butt to secure his state’s elections.
Still hasn’t done that, has he.

Yes DeSantis has secured Florida elections, unlike NY where you’re living. Are your knees getting sore from serving your masters in Albany?

BTW, how many Soros DA’s has your Governor gotten rid of? She still hasn’t done that, has she? Go figure.

Meeting with Rove type RINOs?

Wouldn’t surprise me. DeSwampus (his handlers) has probably had this statement ready for days.

DeSantis is totally correct, imho

it is farce charges and trials like this that cause millions and millions of people to have little more than disgust for the law

I would ask Governor DeSantis… what are you going to do about it other than issue a statement?! What are we going to do about it?!
