In the October 2023 term, the Supreme Court heard three significant cases involving the Second Amendment. Only one of these cases, Rahimi, was directly about the Second Amendment.
Supreme Court terms begin with the first week in October. Court sessions usually end by the last week of June, occasionally extending into the first week of July. Cases decided by the court are published during the term before the Court recesses near the end of June. During the recess from the end of June to October, the court is busy studying cases that have been argued and working on their opinions.
We should see the opinions of the Supreme Court in the Rahimi, Cargill, and Vullo cases before the end of the first week of July 2024.
The Rahimi case is conceptually relatively simple: Can a judge, without significant due process, remove an individual’s ability to exercise the fundamental rights protected by the Second Amendment through the mechanism of a mere restraining order?
There is nothing in the legal history of the United States to justify such an action. However, the media framed the case completely differently. According to the media/deep state complex, the case is about whether the government has the power to protect women by preventing domestic abusers from being armed with firearms. Media headlines have repeatedly misled the public about the issues in the Rahimi case. The Biden administration rushed the Rahimi case to the head of the line at the Supreme Court because Rahimi is not a sympathetic defendant.
Oral arguments on Rahimi were heard on November 7, 2023. Important points about the case are: Rahimi has never been convicted of domestic violence. The Lautenberg amendment did not reduce domestic violence homicides. The Rahimi case was summed up in an AmmoLand

I would like to believe that bur the lower courts have proven to be out of control.
Those state officials are using delaying tactics, hoping Joe Biden will win in November, and Joe will be able to pack the court to make the court another bastion of Progressive power, as it was from 1939 to at least 1994.

It’s disappointing that SCOTUS declined to hear the MD assault weapons ban in Bianchi v. Brown.
However, the Supreme Court does not like to hear cases which have not had a final ruling.
The Maryland case has not had a final decision yet.
I believe the Court is "eating the elephant" bite by bite.
This court has done more in three years than previous courts have done in 60 years (not just on 2A, but abortion and the power of the administrative state).
And Biden knows he is going to lose all three cases, that’s why he is now messaging all this anti-2nd assault weapons ban along with his declaration about nominating hard-left activists in his (not gonna happen) second term.
I am all but certain the wise, crying Latina has told Biden all this is coming.
Vullo was decided yesterday. 9-0, complete victory for 2A and 1A.
Rahimi is not a good facts case to get the right decision from the Court. I suspect cert was granted so the court would be able to keep removing guns from felons and misdemeanants.
The big issues the court is so far avoiding are gun bans, vast expansions by some states of what are sensitive places, absurdly complex requirements for carry permits, permits to purchase a gun or ammo, and waiting periods.
So far, they have been very tolerant of clearly outrageous stalling techniques by circuit courts to prevent a final case from being appealed to the Supreme Court.
So far, Bruen and Heller have had had little effect on ridiculous state gun laws because the lower courts are conducting an insurrection against the Supreme Court and just giving lip service to Bruen and Heller and the Supreme Court is letting them.
