Members of a Mississippi family are traumatized after carjackers opened fire at them while trying to make off with their car — all while their young children were still inside the vehicle.

One of the recurring events in the area is someone committing a robbery in surrounding areas like Pearl or Brandon, and then making a run for the Jackson city limits, knowing that they will be safe there. We make it a point to not stop within the Jackson city limits any more when driving through the area.
