Oof! I guess cool is relative. LOL I wouldn’t want to walk out the door if it was 95 degrees. Even with today’s high of 80, I still waited until 5:30 to hop on Champ. I’ll do the same tomorrow when I mow along the driveway and the high’s only supposed to be in the 70s. There’s NO shade at all out there, where I had some shade in the back yard today.
It rained almost two inches, total, last Saturday and Monday and that made the corn jump. Warm sunny days since then and that makes the corn happy. More rain coming through this weekend so it’ll jump again next week.
I, too, hope the rain keeps coming once the ears start growing. Corn needs a lot of rain to plump up those kernels.
Remember that our humidity is only a fraction of what you have to deal with, so out 95 will “feel like” about 90. And that’s sooooo much better than 100+.
I must say, that corn looks VERY happy. No stunted stalks this year. Did anyone plant soybeans? I wonder how they’re faring.
