JUST IN: NBC reports that Trump's defense team is "newly animated" and have "cracked" a smile while the District Attorney's team looks "tense and apprehensive" in New York.
The moment came as the jury submitted a second note to Judge Merchan, asking him to give the instructions again.
"The District Attorney’s team looks tense and apprehensive. Todd Blanche, on Trump’s defense team, just cracked a tight smile. Trump, Blanche and Emil Bove, another one of Trump's attorneys, are whispering amongst themselves and look newly animated," NBC reported.
Jurors were then dismissed for the day after a few hours of deliberations.
"You must not google or otherwise search for information about the case," Merchan said.
Deliberations will continue tomorrow at 9:30.
that’s my thinking as well. If they were all rabid anti-trump fans fully brainwashed, they’d be calling him guilty already.
>> Lord, we desperately need You to break through the spirit of delusion and bring thoughts of truth and justice.
AMEN and AMEN, I am aligned with you in prayer!
Give the instructions again? What sort of state is New York? In Virginia, the judge reads the instructions to the jury and then when the jury goes to the jury room to deliberate all of the evidence and the jury instructions come into the jury room with the jury. Why wouldn’t New York do something as sensible as that.
I’m sure they got Brandon all jacked up for nothing.
I’ll be shocked if they vote not guilty but it sure would be a hoot! 😄
Exactly. I do know a couple lawyers and in casual conversation with them, not even about this case any trial they were on the jury got a copy of the jury instructions to reference and read for themselves.
No. Wrong
Rigged jury from the get-go. Unless a few jurors ignore the crooked judge Trump will be fiund guilty. It will immediately be appealed to the Supreme Court and the conviction will be overturned 9-0.
lol
👍
Jurors Dismissed for the Day
Doing early shopping?.
Judge Juan Merchan is a Colombian immigrant who moved to the United States with his family when he was 6 years old.
However, there is no specific information available about his current citizenship status.
It’s common for immigrants to become naturalized citizens of their new country, but without specific information, it’s not possible to confirm whether Judge Merchan holds dual citizenship
After many, many years practicing law and working for the appellate court system, I was put on a jury (much to my surprise!) It was a will contest in probate court. I was appointed foreman without a vote (everybody just turned and looked at me) and the first thing I said was, "We better get a copy of the jury instructions." Called the bailiff, he went away, came back, said, "The judge doesn't generally send them back." I said, "No worries, I took notes on the important ones."
We wound up breaking the will, but it really wasn't a close call. First vote was 10-2 and the 2 were just doubtful, after we went over the evidence they were convinced. Took us about 5 hours including lunch :-)
1% chance of a hung jury
0% chance of not guilty
—
99% chance of conviction.
Now taking orders for the number of months/years the Colombian cocaine judge will give him.
On The Five, Greg Gutfeld summarized this pretty good. This is causing mental illness of people trying to follow all. Judge Pirro sound depressed with what she said she heard during instructions this morning. All so wrong, yet the judge just rolls on as if right and just.
Ah. So you are saying I’m wrong for a claim I never made.
Strange that.
I pointed out he came to the US as a child to a post that surmised he was a judge in Columbia, which would have been a remarkable achievement for a toddler.
Not necessarily. A common issue with jurors is the meaning of “proof beyond a reasonable doubt.” The concept can be elusive in that it does not mean no doubt whatever, nor does it mean that you think someone did wrong. It means that the evidence that heard as a jury is so clear and persuasive that it leaves no reasonable doubt of guilt in the mind of any juror.
As I have said, no one needs to say a disparaging word about this “Judge…” His actions have said it all.
If might not be an American citizen, and he might or might not be a dual citizen how are you sure he came to America when he was 5-6? Based on what exactly (other than a Wiki entry that anyone can edit)?
