The principle ground I would rely upon is the denial of due process by not informing Donald Trump of the underlying federal crime he was alleged to have committed—the predicate crime that NY law requires to prove the NY crime.
That is a kangaroo court: to try someone for a crime that they are not informed of is as serious a breach of due process rights as we can possibly imagine. See, e.g., the Stalin show trials—Darkness at Noon.
The timing of the trial and the blatant denial of fundamental rights can only be explained by an effort to interfere with the fair conduct of a presidential election, thereby, in effect, denying the American people the right to a Republican Government.
I’m just being realistic, but WHEN. Not If.
And when a guilty verdict is returned, Trump will appeal. And win.
“Trump could seek a direct appeal to the Supreme Court.”
No doubt Fidel Merchan would issue an order barring Trump from doing so.
“Laws are for peons!”
- Juan Merchan
his polling numbers will shoot up another 10 percent
They did the same thing to Tom DeLay to drive him from office. He eventually won, but the mission of ending his political career was accomplished.
There’s no way a guilty verdict would stand up on appeal given the jury instructions. Total mistrial.

True, but they did the same thing to Ken Paxton. He survived and is doing even better than ever.
When did it become the “Stormy Daniels Case”?
Fortunately, Donald J. Trump is no Tom DeLay.
World War 3?
What Trump should do is get up and leave New York City on his plane and go back to Florida and let NYC try and extradite him, just try it, meanwhile appeal to the SCOTUS to toss the conviction
Technically, SCOTUS’ annual term runs from October to October, though they’re normally ‘done’ once all case decisions argued for the year have been released. To that end, there’s roughly a month remaining.
That said, I’d think a direct appeal _would_ be taken up, given the egregious nature of this trial’s errors and ramifications. So June could be a fairly wild month.
WHAT HAPPENED TO TAMPERING WITH EVIDENCE?????????
“Trump could seek a direct appeal to the Supreme Court.”
No he can’t. Why does everyone think this is an option?
I guess the big question though, is Roberts the gate keeper for this coming straight to the SCOTUS.
If so..I could definitely see him swatting it back regardless of the damage to the country.
Are you talking about this case?? Or the jack smith documents case? Or both?
Guess we’ll find that out in the next series of Kangaroo Courts on charges Trump mishandled classified docs ….
This plays right into the Democrats gripes. If the Supreme Court intercedes and acquits Trump, the Democrats will contend Trump is illegitimate and was protected by the SCOTUS. Democrats always have to blame something else for their failures. It’s never their fault.
Prove it big mouth
