Israel Defense Forces (IDF) tanks reached the center of the town of Rafah on Tuesday. according to multiple media outlets, indicating that Israel intended to fight outwards toward the periphery rather than closing in from the outside.
The Wall Street Journal reported:
Israeli tanks advanced farther into Rafah on Tuesday, according to witnesses, as the Israeli military said it was expanding operations in the southern Gaza city amid growing international condemnation.
The tanks passed near the Al-Awda mosque, a central Rafah landmark, Palestinians in the city told The Wall Street Journal. The Israeli military didn’t comment on the specifics of its push into Rafah, but Israel’s Army Radio said the military had added a brigade to the five operating in the city and troops were engaging in close-quarters combat with Hamas.

Woke up on an IDF base last night at about 2:00 a.m. local time to the soothing sounds of explosions every 30 seconds from Gaza 25 klicks away.
> Brilliant tactic. Divide radially and conquer!<
Yes it is. The savages only tactic is to use human shields. By going inside to out, there is little chance of them being able to mass sufficient numbers of civilians in one area to hide behind.

“What is the controversy? Using armor on the bulldozers?”
I prefer neutron bombs, but this works.
Hopefully they detonate a 100kt nuke 1000m underground. Look up Project Sedan and peaceful nuclear engineering. They could seal every tunnel up an down gaza with a couple of small nukes. Just tell Hamas "out of the tunnels, we are gonna blow them". No residual radiation unless you dig down to the explosion chamber.
Nah....underground nukes would kill no one (above ground), collapse EVERY tunnel, and move/crack the foundation of every cockroach hotel with a few miles....makes it easier for bull dozers, too.
Check out Peaceful nuclear engineering
Apparently this is a war where tanks still have some value and are not automatic death traps for those operating them.
Clutch those pearls harder, deep state! Have another hissy fit!
“troops were engaging in close-quarters combat with Hamas.’
Hamas was fighting? Ran out of women, children and puppy dogs to hide behind, or they ran out on Hamas? Uh oh.
Biden's doddering corrupt ass is in a rope-a-dope situation, and the only thing he can do is rely on PMS (Partisan Media Shills) regurg'ing DNC talking points, while simultaneously trying to cover and spin The Squad and the other PLO NGOs' rants chants and agitprop.
Better yet, don’t tell Hamas first.
:^)
That’s a mighty thin fig leaf.
It’s on again tonight. Having a nice chat with a bunch of Super Zionists on the porch to the frequent distant “CCRRRRUUUUMMMMMMPPPP” of arty or jdams.
Israel’s army said Wednesday it took control of a vital Gaza-Egypt corridor it suspects aided weapons smuggling as the ground offensive against Hamas in the border city of Rafah intensified.
A military spokesman said about 20 tunnels were found in the area of the corridor, a claim rejected by Egypt which accused Israel of using allegations of tunnels under the border as cover for its Rafah offensive.
Israel’s National Security Adviser Tzachi Hanegbi said, however, that the war could go on until the year’s end.
“We may have another seven months of fighting to consolidate our success and achieve what we have defined as the destruction of Hamas’s power and military capabilities,” Hanegbi said.
