Immigration protesters in Charlottetown say they'll begin a dry hunger strike on Tuesday (Trudeau's self-inflicted visa crisis)

Dozens of foreign workers protesting changes to P.E.I.'s immigration strategy are on their fourth day of a hunger strike in downtown Charlottetown.

The provincial government is cutting back on the number of workers it is nominating for permanent residency this year, from about 2,100 to about 1,600 — with a big drop in the number of hospitality workers in particular. More than 800 were nominated last year, and the plan is to nominate just 200 this year.

Jaspreet Singh Sivia, one of the people who have been speaking for the protesters, accuses the government of changing the rules for people already in the process of working toward permanent residency in Canada. If the province doesn't make changes, he said the protest will be stepped up.

"There have been no actions taken. It looks like the government has become deaf," Sivia said.

"We will be doing a 24-hour dry hunger strike effective Tuesday if we still don't hear from the government officials. We will be there 24/7, every day."

Students from India have been coming to Canada in large numbers to "study". Naturally once they graduate they don't want to return to India. Unfortunately some provincial governments have granted them extensions but that's not good enough for them. They want permanent residence.

Here is a video for background. The young man in this video is awesome. *Worth the watch*

Indian students PROTEST against DEPORTATION from Canada (15 min video)

"International students, who are no longer eligible for postgraduate work permits and will be slated for deportation from Canada, are now protesting in large numbers against provincial and federal governments to let them stay in the country. New rules put in place by the P.E.I government last year means that permits are only being given to students with qualifications in construction and healthcare.

The reality is, Canada does not need anymore service workers. There are too many temporary residents in Canada and even Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has acknowledged that.

However, when this exact same protest happened in Manitoba a few months ago, the federal government granted the students a 2-year extension. Will the same thing happen again in P.E.I or will these people have to go back home?"

“I’m hungry.”
“Yeah, but it’s a dry hunger.”

P.E.I. doesn't need any dot heads. Why of all places are these scum balls in P.E.I. anyway? It's way off the beaten path.

They’d be welcomed at the US’ southern border.

I’ve never understood why hunger strikes would have any effect. Can jails and prisons force-feed inmates? You don’t want to eat, don’t eat. “It’s your body”!

Let’s watch them die, as they claim they will do.
