A 13th county in Oregon passed a measure that would allow the county to move forward with efforts to secede from the state and join the Republican-governed state of Idaho.
Voters in Crooks County passed Measure 7-86, also known as the “Greater Idaho” measure, 53 percent to 47 percent on Tuesday, according to the Central Oregon Daily News.
Greater Idaho Executive Director Matt McCaw issued a statement that there was “no excuse left” for the Oregon Legislature or Gov. Tina Kotek (D) to “continue to ignore the people’s wishes.”
“The voters of eastern Oregon have spoken loudly and clearly about their desire to see border talks move forward,” McCaw said in his statement. “With this latest result in Crook County, there’s no excuse left for the Legislature and Governor to continue to ignore the people’s wishes. We call on the Governor, Speaker of the House, and Senate President to sit down with us and discuss next steps towards changing governance for eastern Oregonians, as well as for the legislature to begin holding hearings on what a potential border change will look like.”
Voters in Oregon counties such as Baker, Morrow, Sherman, Union, Lake, Grant, Harney, Klamath, Wheeler, and Wallowa have passed similar measures to the one passed in Crook County.
If successful, the Oregon border would be shifted 200 miles to the west from where it currently is.
The Greater Idaho movement seeks to move the border between Oregon and Idaho to include 14 full eastern Oregon counties and 3 partial ones,” the movement says on its website. “In addition to the 13 counties who have passed Greater Idaho measures, in 2023 the Idaho House passed a memorial inviting the Oregon Legislature to begin border talks.”

I looked on the map and it’s now to over half the state. Any more counties and they could just form their own state.

These Oregon countries are glaring evidence that the corrupt, OBiden-protecting Congress is not doing its constitutionally enumerated duty to guarantee each state a republican form of government imo.
"Article IV, Section 4 (4.4): The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government [emphasis added], and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence."
This is why all Democratic and Republican Trump supporters need to support hopeful Trump 47 with a new patriot Congress, not only so that he won't be a lame duck president from the first day of his 2nd term, but will also do its 4.4 duty to protect citizens from renegade states.
Personal freedom is antithetical to Democrats, so it won’t happen.
Just Imagine if the people living in rural counties in Colorado could break away from Denver?
There are so many examples I could give.
Baltimore has many generations of people that have never worked.
Article IV, Section 3, Clause 1, makes it an extraordinarily difficult task.
Otherwise, Denver could break away from Colorado and become its own state. Austin, Houston, Dallas, El Paso, and San Antonio could each break off from Texas and create five additional states.
For the matter, Loving County Texas, and its 57 people could form its own state, or every block in every city and town could form its own state.
New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new State shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.
I really don't see the regressive govenment of OR, or the regressives who infest the Congress, of ever allowing eastern OR irs freedom. I hope I am wrong.
Btw the failure to fulfill those requirements means that West Virginia is an illicit state as it was created at the time of the Civil War and the Virginia legislature never agreed to its secession.
I wonder if they contemplated municipalities that do not enforce laws and encourage lifestyles where people don’t work their entire lives, and schools are to feed kids and warehouse them during certain hours. Where Public Schools are dangerous places.
And all these cities push the same political dogma.
If Washington counties join in too this has the potential to completely upset the electoral map.
Although this is a completely democratic process you will bet the Democrats will say this endangers “our precious democracy”.

Unfortunately, not without the consent of the Oregon Legislature. They have a better shot (slim, I know) with Greater Idaho. Maybe lightning will strike and the Democrats will say goodbye and good riddance.
The way things are going the existing laws might not deter them. The runaway counties could just dare the collectivists to try and stop them.
Who knows. The I5 cities and democrats in Salem despise eastern Oregonians. Especially the Harney county judge who throws out unconstitutional laws and regulations. I wouldn’t be too surprised if the democrats want these counties gone.

It’s a trial balloon which if successful can lead to other border counties in left dominated states seceding to a state who has a conservative counties along those borders.

It is more than that. Sociopaths need validation. AN aspect of this is the humiliation of their victims. The more their victims scream/cry/complain then the more these psychos feel the validation of "We are the Overlords".
