Morality to a leftist means something much different than it does to you or I. Their moral good is power for themselves, anything else is evil. True, false, just, tyrannical, are neither moral or immoral to a leftist simply tools. If they do something that seems irrational take a step back and look at how those actions lead to more power for the leftist then it will all make sense.
In this case the point of her absurd position is the absurdity. If you can get people to profess an absurdity it means they put their own logic, reason, and conscience subordinate to your authority in order to believe the absurd. People in that state of mind will perform whatever is demanded of them by that authority.
