The President is indirectly appointed by State Legislatures, that's right there in black and white, it was a deliberate decision by the authors of the Constitution to PREVENT a popular vote election and to PREVENT the national government from interfering in its own replacement.
Biden is the legally appointed President, that has NEVER BEEN DISPUTED by an official act of any State Legislature, which are the only Constitutional parties with a say in the matter.
