State continues to be the single most heinous arm of this administration, and there are a LOT of candidates from which to choose.

I’m not sure I have a huge problem with this. Just so long as we simply feign sincerity and don’t really mean it.
This almost perfectly encapsulates everything that’s wrong with our government.
I don’t know what’s worse. The fact that our State Department issued this insane statement of that no senior member of this administration said “are you effing crazy? Fire whoever wrote this. Then fire whoever told them to write it.”

Did we offer condolences when Lumumba or Allende died? Can’t seem to remember. What about Reinhard Heydrich? ( But we were at war with Germany at that time, so I guess that doesn’t count.)
My condolence: I stand in sympathy with those Iranians who despise the regime they’re forced to live under — that God didn’t kill this bastard soon enough to suit me. That said, I don’t question God’s timing; it’s above my paygrade.
