I wish that we lived close by!
Truth fully, Orvis' linen summer trousers are still well made, wear VERY well; however, again...the colors are NOT as good as they once were and less of a choice. Thankfully, they wear like iron, but my madras patchwork ones are about to give up the ghost and they no longer make them. :-(
And they're far better than this season's Eileen Fisher stuff, which are HORRIBLE in every way possible! The colors and "clown pant" styles are, IMHO, UNWEARABLE!
I'm jut thankful that I can still wear a lot of my older things!
I don't understand WHY, but summer clothing seems to just be getting worse and worse and WORSE.
Always but and wear what fits you best, no matter the cost; they will no doubt last you a long whine and therefore NOT be a waste of money.
I just saw the new Eileen Fisher line today!
Wow so True!
Well we do know our likes and dislikes and the prices are crazy!
I saw a blouse I really like and it was 180.00 ....forgot the name but wow!
Ha!
Yes we would have fun shopping or not shopping if we lived closer by!
Take care and see you soon!
Obviously it’s no wonder that we are such good friends...”water seeks it’s own level”, as my grandmother used to say. :-)

WooHOO!
“Tulsi would really annihilate Camel-Toe in their debate”
Been there done that, she did it in 2020.
After watching President Trump’s full speech, I can say America has received an anointed blessing in the person-hood of Donald J. Trump.
Your comment reminds me of someone replying to someone on another thread by mistake. Reno89519 was expressing how Tulsi Gabbard would make a great VP pick. Nothing wrong with that. I like what was said. It is nothing that should shoo him off a civil conversation among FRiends.
“She said she’d be honored to be President Trump’s running mate.”
I heard the interview, and don’t recall her saying that. He did STATE that her name has been out there re VP but, IIRC, Bannon didn’t ASK her about VP. He did ask her about two other specific Cabinet-type positions. To answer that question, she did say she be honored. Maybe he asked about VP, but I didn’t hear it.
“I think there will be a very special place, for Tulsi, in RPOTUS’ next admin.”
I agree. But no Hindu for VP, one heartbeat away from the Presidency. We’re already too far from our Christian roots; no need to jump in to some goofy eastern religion.
She’s all those things you list.
She’s also a HINDU! Absolutely not.
What is wrong with you people? Have you forgotten who founded this country, and how? Do we want a follower of a an eastern religion in the Oval Office?
“while some of her politics are an issue amongst many of us, I think the adds to the ticket in ways no one else can.”
Politics being “an issue” is important in POLITICS. How stupid would we be to hire a VP whose politics we disagree with, especially when there are other options that are so much better? Being politically correct dilutes everything and never is a winning strategy in the end.
I never mentioned VP.
She is not on my shortlist ;-)
No way, no how.
I know. You didn’t. Someone else did — a lot of “someones” here, actually. What is WRONG with them?
I just watched most of the interview.
Bannon asks her if she would consider being a cabinet member in Pres Trump’s admin, as in SecDef or Sec of State (not VP). To which she said she’d be honored.
She and Bannon are getting bashed, pretty good, in the comments, btw.
That’s EXACTLY how I recalled it. He didn’t ask her about VP — only Cabinet. (I don’t think he wants her as VP either, although he respects her in certain areas.)
Thanks for finding that clip. I’m going to check out the comments.
The comments are pretty harsh — about 95% of ‘em. Nobody mentions that she’s Hindu. For me, that’s huge.
I am not saying that I support Tulsi Gabbard. I have many reasons to say No. I’m just suspecting that she’s the perfect surprise candidate that Trump would pick—woman, veteran, person of color, former Democrat, etc.—that would check off boxes and gain votes. It misses a lot of points, like her views, etc. Okay, for me, there are a number of choices, Burgum, who I need to read up more about, Sanders, etc. Definitely No to any sitting Senator, absolutely No to that Ramaswamy jerk.
I’ve always believed that Carol Swain would be excellent if checking off boxes is important (which she does) — PLUS she’s a staunch, tough conservative. Soft-spoken, but she doesn’t mess around.
Not really into a woman VP, there are many women who would make better VPs than many men. Who knows what will happen...? I hope and pray he makes good choices re personnel this time around.
