Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, argued that President Joe Biden should have pardoned Donald Trump after the Justice Department brought indictments against the former president and pressured New York prosecutors not to pursue Trump's ongoing hush money trial.

In an exclusive interview on MSNBC’s “The 11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle,” Romney expressed his dismay in response to Republican lawmakers, including the presumptive Republican presidential nominee’s vice presidential prospects, rallying to Trump’s defense outside of the Manhattan courthouse where Trump’s hush money trial is taking place.

Really, Mitt? Pardoned him? Biden is the one who prosecuted him! Basically, this is Romney showing how little he knows about the Democrats he has joined forces with so many times. Both sides think Mitt is a fool.

Yes it can be done. President Ford pardoned President Nixon for Watergate related offenses for which he had not been convicted or even tried in a court of law.

Romney assumes Rats, communists, and other evil people have a sense of magnanimity and fair play, which they clearly do not have.

It was dense of him to make this comment.

We all know Rats et al. live on a lower plane of existence.

Romney trying to stay relevant. The problem is too dumb to realize Joe/Obama authorized these fake charges.

Is someone is trying to get in the future President’s good grace?

Biden is so full of hatred, contempt, derision, viciousness and revenge - I have never seen such in my life.

A pardon would have been scoffed at.

Trump should have pardoned Romney for animal abuse and not paying his taxes.

Actually he should. No one is ever going to seriously go after Biden. And how would Biden react? An innocent man (in his eyes) accepting a pardon?? Great chess move. Move the country forward and forget about the old creep.

Of course. Ford pardoned Nixon. Nixon wasn’t even charged with anything.

I’m not sure that accepting a pardon would be a good idea. No crime was committed.

Agreed. But that isn't preventing Trump from being tied up in a courtroom every day. I think Biden giving Trump a pardon would have been far more effective for Biden and the left than the current law-fare we're seeing. Had Biden pardoned Trump, Trump would have had to reject the pardon, which automatically places him on defense in the issue. Defense is the losing side in a political battle. The left could have pounded away at the fact that Biden, the benevolent, decent man that he is, had to pardon the evil, mean-spirited Trump. Better that Biden didn't do so. This also proves, yet again, the carpetbagger moron is on the side of the left, in my opinion.

hey, we can guarantee 6 people will watch your interview.

Not true. Twelve in Utah alone. They love their Utah. They are even buying season tickets for their unnamed hockey team that's moving from Phoenix.

That probably would have been a real smart political move for Biden. Would have left the implication of crimes in place but would have taken the air out of the lawfare argument that we’re clearly seeing in force.

But their hatred is so profound, I know they just couldn’t bring themselves to do it.
