My guess is that Vindman will draw enough money to be credible but will prove a tough sell to the voters because military officers above captain often have trouble navigating the disorder of electoral politics. In addition, Vindman lacks the long and close connections with the locals that most successful candidates have. Other things being equal, a lawyer who grew up in the area and has spent a couple of decades writing wills or trying jury cases has a better chance of winning.
