I find it hard to believe that a majority of college students could support HAMAS after the brutality of October 7th. There is a small percentage making a big splash.
A larger percentage could oppose Israeli tactics.
To: dfwgator
I'd say that our government is already doing that for them.
Perhaps, but, we still have dissenting voices who do try to stop the poisoning of our youth. With China, there is no such thing as dissenting voices. We can try to get TikTok under American control, at least our version of it.

The ones I’ve seen interviewed actually doubt that October 7 happened as reported. They say they don’t accept that ‘narrative’.

There is no reason in recent years to support HAMAS at all in my opinion.

It has long been known that a repeated lie will replace the truth.
But the opposite is also true, repeated truth will replace lies.
WE ARE NOT DOING OUR JOB. Folks, use your outdoor voice.

Americans should only get their news from American communists not red Chinese communists ! I disagree.
It's better to have two sources of information than one.
Our "American" communists are as anti-American as the CCP. Our Deep State and Silicon valley hate America and its culture.
When you have two competing anti-American sources of info, you can better read between the lines and try and guess the truth.

I've never used TikTok, but I'm sure China allows Americans -- even conservatives -- to post things that Facebook/Google would ban.
The more sources of info -- and the more diverse the owners -- the better.

You think American control is equal to Chinese control?
How many congressional hearings (or Chinese equivalent hearings) have the Chinese held regarding the damage that TikTok does to their people? We have had many hearings regarding TikTok and Facebook and Instagram and WhatsApp, and others. Granted that, those American sites are still poisoning American youth minds, but, there is still some progress. The Chinese won't allow their people to have the freedoms to use social media sites, and in the U.S., most control depends upon parental supervision. Parents in China don't have the same worries, since total control belongs with the CCP.

“I felt guilty and disgusted with myself even though I had no choice,” Soussana tells Sandberg.
These people are damaged for life. You don't 'get better' from this kind of thing.
But our brainwashed, fanatic college kids don't accept that it even happened.

My 25 year old son watches Al Jezerra and YouTube.
He is very smart and is an Associate Scientist at a major Pharma corp.
He is against this Israel War in Gaza. I try to speak to him about it. He believes the Israelis have been oppressing the Palestinians since 1948.
I try to explain to him the Israel side of the middle east. Plus I try to explain to him that the Christians were supposed to have the Lebanon. The Muslims were supposed to have everywhere east of the Jordan. The Jews were given the area west of the Jordan to the sea. Gaza was part of Egypt.
I also point out that not everyone in Israel is Jewish. 18% are Muslims. 2% are Christian. 1.5% Druze.
That all the Israelis want is to be allowed to exist. To live in peace.

It is not a coincidence that the Zoomers and late Gen Y, who grew up with smartphones and tablets don’t read books.

TikTok is he CCP, and as such, it will allow all kinds of American opinion to get through. That's because, China wants to know (or spy) on everything and every thought that Americans put forth. It's how they learn about how to target people and what messaging to send back, such as the poisoning that they advance. If you don't understand the thinking, you don't know how to address it in the future and you don't know how to change it.
Google and others may ban/block some conservative messaging, but, that messaging has a way to get through via other sites or via TV/radio/internet/newspapers and magazines; the Chinese only have the CCP messaging, not matter what type of media they use. Do the Chinese have a FOX news, for example, or an X/Twitter site or an FR site?

Does your son think that Oct. 7 didn’t happen? or that Hamas had a right to do the dreadful things it did?

There is nothing “shocking” about this. The conservative operatives should start watching this stuff to learn how to communicate to the up and coming generations.
Instead we talk about taking it away from the voters we will need in 5-10 years. That is a losing proposition.
We should be both producing 1 minute videos on TikTok and Instagram, and ending CCP control of TikTok.

For the most part students are lemmings weeding the reasonable ones from the herd is nearly impossible they take the bait when it’s to late.
The smart ones stay on the side lines and chuckle.

You think American control is equal to Chinese control? At this point, I don't see a dime's worth of difference.

Sounds like the Chinese via TikTok have poisoned your mind. You are an immovable target and perhaps a lost case.
