There are massively different interests in play that were apparently not in play, say, twenty-five years ago. Then, labor heavily favored the Democrats. I don’t think that’s the case today. I don’t think the Republicans are a good place for labor to land, either. Then there’s the people in favor of defense. My father, a WWII vet, was a Democrat until Carter. He said, “I didn’t move away from the Democrats, they moved away from me.” Democrats have heavily courted Muslims/trans/LGBT/illegals/ne’er-do-well’s/homeless and criminals and the ultra-wealthy. What a combo! But what exactly are the Republicans trying to meld together? We saw a huge split in the recent budget vote. I think it’s time to pull together a set of teams, not just one, that comes up with a set of planks that the majority of Republicans can agree on. I don’t see that happening. Nor is it immediately obvious what those planks should be. We’d better find things we can agree on, things we can both give on, and things that would best be just left alone. The people I’ve seen in Republican party positions who might be the ones to set this up were put there by RINO’s. A lot of those seem to be gone now.

With the Illegals that are coming to this country I’d be
surprised at what the USA would resemble in the next fifty
years. Its ever changing and the USA is vastly different
from what it started out as after Columbus sailed in 1492.
The inhabitants have brought it upon themselves good or bad.
