Understand. Going full bore on a problem that only happens once every few years is not financially provident.

I see a few propane (dual fuel) generators on Facebook Marketplace I think might be just the ticket.

My brother, the mechanic, laughs at me for how many gas-powered things I’ve ruined over the years—garden tractors, tillers, lawnmowers, chainsaws, weed whackers...

My research show propane won’t have this kind of old fuel problem, and yes I do use gas stabilizer.

When not in use, empty the tank and then let the motor run dry, and it wont build up the goo in the carb, which is why 90 percent of small engines "die". The other 10 percent, change the oil each season and throw in a new plug, will last for decades.

Agreed, not much sense in wiring for a whole house support if it only occurs a few hours per 20-30 years.

The small gens also have a use in that you can place them in a wheelbarrow and take them out on the acreage for power to do stuff.

'course, with the now battery powered everything, not so much.

I own a duel duel generator and love it. All I use is propane in it. Will never go back to gas.

I bought one that produces 3500 KW for $500 bucks and hooked up everything in my house which took a little over 1000 watts.
