If this were the 19th century, I would vote for the party that supported states' rights, limited government, balanced budgets and staying out of foreign wars. That would have made me a Democrat - ie the Conservative Party - in the 19th century. Things changed later and now its the Republicans who are the Conservative Party. I'll vote for my beliefs whatever party supports them. If the parties switched places again, I'd switch my vote.
