Slaughter breeds submission or at least resignation. 12% of Germany was killed in WW2. Germany’s hatred, such that it attempted to kill the world and repopulate it with Germans, died with its huge losses. As a % of population, the Russians lost half as much. Without large scale slaughter to induce submission, Palestinian hatred will never die.

Muslim massacres of Christians in the Middle East killed Christian hatred. Christians there became resigned to Muslim butchery, eventually becoming aligned with Islam against their Christian brethren who showed up during the Crusades. Middle Eastern Christians often hate the West. The fusion of Nazism and Communism that was Baathism was dreamed up by Michel Aflaq, a Middle Eastern Christian. George Habash, a prominent and vicious Palestinian terrorist leader, was a Christian.

So far, around 34,000 gazans have been killed, roughly half of whom have been combatants, out of a population of about 2,400,000. That is a 1.4% casualty rate, almost an order of magnitude less than the Germans suffered.

Similarly, the civilian : combatant casualty rate in Gaza’s urban warfare is slightly greater than 1:1, compared to the modern urban warfare ratio if 9:1. So on this measure too, Israel has achieved nearly an order of magnitude improvement.

And still today, FReepers, of all people, accuse Israel of “genocide”. Either they are terribly badly informed, or their anti-semitism has clouded their ability to perceive.

It was not just the relative slaughter in Russia vs. Germany in WW2: Moscow was damaged but far from flattened, Leningrad / St. Petersburg though hugely damaged was not taken, and the bulk of Russian territory was not pounded at all.
