MOSCOW, May 9 (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that there was nothing unusual in a planned exercise involving the practice deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in southern Russia along with ally Belarus.
Russia said on Monday it would practise the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons as part of a military exercise after what the Moscow said were threats from France, Britain and the United States.
"There is nothing unusual here, this is planned work," Putin said, state news agency TASS reported. "It is training."
Russia's defence ministry, in its announcement on Monday, explicitly linked the nuclear exercise to "provocative statements and threats by certain Western officials against the Russian Federation".
Putin said last year that Moscow had transferred some tactical
nuclear weapons
to Belarus, Russia's first move of such warheads outside Russia since the 1991 fall of the Soviet Union.

Also he said that the check is in the mail and that he won’t come in their mouths.
I’ll call your nuke bluff and raise NATO
America announced troop deployments to Ukraine?
It seems like we would all have seen the news, can you show us what we missed.
Putin doesn’t bluff. Did you see the West falling all over itself walking that troop deployment madness back on Tuesday? Ukraine is collapsing and everyone knows it. The only hope to stabilize it was NATO troops. Russia has put its cards on the table. Deployment to continue the war takes this nuclear. The West will stand aside as Russia is forced to kill that last Ukrainian and end this this summer.

Check out Hakeem Jeffries remarks on 60 Minutes Sunday. The Russians see those remarks for what they are. At least now the West sees a second red line Putin has actually drawn. NATO in Ukraine means war was the first. That red line , the warmongering MIC oligarchs in DC stepped over. NATO deployment of significant ground troops in Ukraine will be immediately dealt with (nukes are absolutely on the table) is the uncrossable second red line. Are the warmongering MIC oligarchs in DC mad enough to cross this one as well? You betcha they are.
As much as I dislike the KGB thug, it is clear there is nothing unusual about tactical nuclear weapons drills, as we did them in the USN in uneven intervals, performing nuclear loading drills and such, never mind the actual strategic nuclear weapons handling that took place every day in the Air Force for decades.
What is different though is, that the Soviet...er...Russian weapons “drill” was clearly done in response to nebulous trial balloons regarding US armed forces involvement in Ukraine floated by someone in the government that a flunky spokesman for the State Department was compelled to squash with a public statement, for what that is worth. At least that is how I read it in the past few weeks.
I remember reading the account about the statement regarding troops in Ukraine that the low level State Department spokesman felt obliged to deliver in response.
The original statement that provoked the State Department response was probably just a little more advanced than the douchebags in government at all levels who have been saying constantly that if we don’t give Ukraine hundreds of billions, we are going to have troops over there fighting, and when I saw it I paid little attention to it.
And I paid the same scant attention to the State Department statement in rebuttal. They outright lie as well and nothing they say can be taken as truth.
The real tragedy is that all of those 500,000 dead Ukrainians would be alive today if Trump was president.
A deal would have been struck, the Donbass goes to Russia, the rest of Ukraine stays intact and becomes a buffer state between NATO Eastern Europe and Russia proper.
Ukraine would have been rebuilt and received aid from America, Europe and Russia with a stipulation that they could NEVER be part of NATO. This would have been a fair deal.
But now, Ukraine risk losing ALL of it’s territory and annexed into greater Russia. Transnistria will be next, thanks to the smelly anal fingers of Obama and his puppet Victoria Nuland. /spit
LOL, right, because you can trust Putin, which is why Finland dropped 50 years of neutrality agreements with Russia and quickly joined NATO. Okay
Putin broke numerous treaties by invading Ukraine, including one he personally signed with Ukraine, the 2003 “Treaty Between the Russian Federation and Ukraine on the Russian–Ukrainian State Border”. It set Ukraine’s borders as they were in 1991 & was lodged with the UN.
America never announced any deployment to Ukraine which is why you can’t show us that announcement.
You did do the usual though of throwing up some gibberish to try and mask that you were simply lying.
That’s funny!
Russians drank the rocket fuel years ago.
All a bunch of BS to keep people amped up and distracted.
The US conducts tactical nuclear drills all the time too and I don’t hear the histrionics like this article.

Please provide links to the PUTIN direct quotes where he said those armaments were red lines. The only one you will find is his recent remarks that the F-16 is viewed as dual use (nuclear capable). You may be referring to remarks made by Biden and your other DC heroes where they have said repeatedly that many of these systems would lead to WWIII before they later decided to deploy them.
Again, the Putin quotes or stop the lies.

Russia’s deputy foreign minister has warned Western countries of “enormous risks” if Ukraine is provided with F-16 fighter jets, Russian state media TASS reported Saturday.
Russia's Foreign Ministry said on Thursday that if the United States decided to supply Kyiv with longer-range missiles, it would cross a "red line" and become "a party to the conflict".
