It’s not old news.
They changed the name of the Boy Scout program a few years ago to Scouts BSA, but the organization name stayed the same, Boy Scouts of America.
I thought at that time they would eventually change their name to BSA, similar to how the YMCA changed their name.
Or The United Negro College Fund, became The College Fund.
I’ve got a better name.
Grooming America’s Children.
Or,GAC.
The obvious abbreviation for Scouting America is S.A.
S.A. is also a common abbreviation for sexual assault.
After tens of thousands of sexual assault claims and their recent bankruptcy, did the BSA really not think about this?
So does this mean there’re dropping their trademarks and all claims to ‘Boy Scouts’, and a new organization could claim the name and turn it back into what it should be?
Boys are bad. Specifically white boys.
Even more directly, I think the only hope of getting the real Boy Scouts back at this point is the "original" organization that is becoming "Scouting America" next year will eventually collapse, file for bankrupcy, and be liquidated (which isn't that far fetched given how rapidly their membership has dwindled in recent years). At that point, someone could outright "purchase" the defunct organization, and re-charter it from the ground up, restoring it back to what it USED to be before they went off the deep end.
Boys don’t have a single chance in this day and age.
All these decent “alternatives to the Boy Scouts” like Camp Fire, Navigators USA, Boys Brigade, Cadet Corps, Federation of North-American Explorers, Pathfinders, Royal Rangers, Trail Life USA, Troops of Saint George, etc., etc., should get together and combine their troop units and resources. Strength in numbers. It would be much easier for people to find a troop near them if they combine their organizations.
There was also a rival group to the BSA in the early 20th century called the “American Boy Scouts”. It dissolved in the 1920s, so I assume there’s nothing stopping these organizations from claiming that as their new name, and advertising themselves as the REAL Boy Scouts.

I am in the same boat. I went through the scouts from the early 70’s. Did a lot of high adventure trips. Worked my ass off for my Eagle rank. I guided my son through the same process. Told him, “no eagle, no driver’s license”. That motivated him. I had to go through all kinds of training to prevent sexual abuse and 2 deep leadership. Then, the BSA threw all that out the window. I went to my last scout meeting and told the Scout Master that I was out and they will never see me again because of this crap.
And yes, none of is this is accidental.
they target the foundations of this country
If their beliefs and organizational structures are compatible that might be possible. But to bring disparate groups together just for numbers sake is counterproductive, and could lead to the same morass yje Boy Scouts are in. It’s not about the numbers, it’s about enriching the lives of the boys, and in the case of Trail Life USA, developing them into Godly men. As for locating or starting a troop, that process is easily to follow through the website. In the 11 years since Trail Life was founded, there are more thanr 55,000 members in over 1100 troops in all 50 states.
This is actually a new development. They had still retained the "BSA" brand name with the rebranding a couple of years ago. Even that is now gone with the new branding.
Can't even mention that nasty "B" in the name anymore. It's "transphobic."
This is don't by the same demonic group with de-gendered ALL language in California law.
I was a Senior District Executive for the Boy Scouts and although I’m not LDS, I worked closely with a lot of their leaders. Their decision to pull out of of Scouting was more because of their internal politics. The LDS was being pressured from within for equity issues. They were spending a lot more money on their Young Men’s program per child in the US versus all other countries and young women in any other country.
I believe that the LDS affiliation was the doorstop against the BSA going woke. It’s no coincidence that the BSA announced they were allowing girls weeks apart from the LDS’ departure.
I’m an Eagle Scout and former Professional Scouter. I can’t say enough how heartbroken it’s been to see these stories. My old bosses that I worked for were far-right. Those same men are now high level executives, very influential and their embracing all this woke crap. These days, I feel like I’m in the twilight zone.
