President Donald Trump said he'd make the "sacrifice" of going to jail to defend free speech amid the trial in Manhattan where the 45th president is under a gag order he has slammed as "unconstitutional."
"I have to watch every word I tell you people. You ask me a question, a simple question I'd like to give it, but I can't talk about it because this judge has given me a gag order and [says] you'll go to jail if you violate it," Trump said in remarks outside the courtroom Monday afternoon.
"And frankly, you know what? Our Constitution is much more important than jail. It's not even close. I'll do that sacrifice any day."

Someone who knows how to do it needs to make sure that this judge is disbarred.
The Democrats are playing a very dangerous game. I am afraid they have lost control over the monsters they created. My guess is that these various legal charges were just suppose to keep him busy during the run up to the election, a guilty verdict just icing on the cake. But now a (biased) judge has cross the Rubicon. He has gone rogue and no longer following the script. I seriously think he believes he will be hailed as a “hero” (and perhaps in the bubble he lives in he might be) but I think he will be remembered more like Benedict Arnold then a George Washington.
Even a maroon like this judge HAS to know he’s being baited. Right? Right?
Likely one day home confinement. To make a “point.”
I just wish he’d talk about domestic issues and world chaos instead of his personal legal issues. Lord knows there are plenty of issues that could actually use his commentary.
>> I just wish he’d talk about domestic issues
Our corrupt, extraconstitutional legal system IS a domestic issue — a very important one. And President Trump is masterfully drawing attention to it!
Fraud investigations? Then why is he allowing this to go forward. And I would NEVER trust a man like that to make decisions for children.
“Your honor. Please jail me”
Your move
Was that the latest violation of the gag order? I’ve tried to find out all day just what set the judge off today. I thought it had to be something he wrote over the weekend as he seemed prepared early this morning to bring it up again!!
“”Likely one day home confinement. To make a “point.”””
He could bar him from attending the trial!!! If he did that, Trump would show up just to get the judge’s goat!
I’ve spent a night in jail no big deal.
His show trial must stop during any period of “confinement”.
>> He could bar him from attending the trial!!!
He has the right to be present during his trial. They can’t continue the trial if they confine him.
Good attempt at trying to re-write history.
-Assange was indicted on May 23, 2019.
-The House adopted 2 articles of impeachment on December 18, 2019
The Senate received the articles of impeachment on January 16, 2020
Those are the facts. As a parting gift, you are this week’s winner of the Joseph Goebbels Award.
So they don’t transport prisoners to court? Anyhow this would be a tragic move sure to stoke the more extreme on our side of the ball field. Either way Trump gets more and more popular.
They are desperate to expand their narrative of Trump in the negative. They want to say “guilty of contempt of court!”, “criminal!”, “disrespects our legal system!”, etc..
Some of the more rabid leftist won’t be able to help themselves. On the other hand, the more sane ones know this is unconstitutional and would just be giving Trump EXACTLY what he wants. He could sue and win - then be able to claim he defeated anti-free-speech practices, and he’d be right.
Pure showmanship. It’s great.
Good points!
California jails give you a 3 leaf lettuce salad and a chicken pasta entree!
Illinois jails give you a Wendy’s single with OnYums!
I honestly did not know that OnYums were still available!
Woot! Woot!
