We should get my mother-in-law a new phone that has better call screening features.
My home phone is much better at announcing where the call originates and if it is potentially spam.
Most of the calls I get on the home phone are spam or from places where I know I would not get a call from.
But nuttin’ about the scammers paradise out of India?
We have an answering machine for call screening on the landline.
Scammers typically don’t leave a message, they just hang up.
However, the ‘IRS SCAM’ callers did leave messages.
You could tell they were reading a script, and were both exactly the same message. But the accent was a dead giveaway.............

Years ago my mom received a call such as this. The voice even sounded like my son’s. But she wasn’t a stupid person, and she was a suspicious, and logical one. Shè knew that if I needed her help, I would have called her myself. So she hung up on them, and called me. My son was just fine, and mom averted thè scam.
