Animal rights nonprofit group PETA has strongly condemned Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) after she recently shared a story about her killing her 14-month-old dog, “Cricket,” for his lousy hunting skills.
The story is published in her book No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward and was intended to show that when it came to politics or personal life, she wasn’t afraid of getting “messy and ugly.” It instead garnered sharp criticism from animal lovers everywhere.
“Most Americans love their dogs, and we suspect that they will consider Gov. Noem a psychotic loony for letting this rambunctious puppy loose on chickens and then punishing her by deciding to personally blow her brains out rather than attempting to train her or find a more responsible guardian who would provide her with a proper home,” PETA Senior Director Colleen O’Brien said in a statement to the Washington Examiner. “Gov. Noem obviously fails to understand the vital political concepts of education, cooperation, compromise, and compassion.
Noem decided to shoot Cricket after the dog killed a local family’s chickens after a pheasant hunting trip and then bit her when she tried to intervene. Noem said she “hated that dog” and deemed it “less than worthless” for being unable to hunt properly.
After taking the dog to a gravel pit and shooting it, she also shot a goat she owned, which she said stunk and was “nasty and mean.”
She’s very naive as to how the enemy works, they look for any opening to pounce on to ridicule their opponents.
Alinsky said it best: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. There is no defense. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.”
That’s how we dud it with old dogs that could no longer function due to disease or in accidents.

Of course we all here know that. The problem is that the enemy knows how stupid most voters are and know this works on them.
She needs to post s video of her skinning a deer.

I’d like to know how much training time she’d put into the dog. I worked at a sporting clays range where hunters sometimes brought their dogs to get familiar with gunshots (leashed of course). Those folks put a lot of work into training their dogs. I taught one lady wingshooting who trained her pooch constantly. She got good at hitting tricky and fast targets. Finally went on a pheasant hunt, I asked her how she did and she said it was like shooting pinatas, they were so big and slow by comparison.
Yep! Chihuahua’s are aggravating to say the least. I replaced hers with a pekingese which was a much friendlier dog.
I have no problem with her killing the dog that was killing the chickens and attacked a person. When one lives in rural areas, one takes care of problems like that by their selves.
She would have had a better challenge hunting quail or woodcock.
And of course the people criticising her are the idiots that think animals shouldn’t be killed for food, because they can buy meat at the supermarket.
If John Steinbeck was alive he would write a story about this nutjob.
No woodcock in these parts and the quail are a species that tends to run more than fly. Doves would be a good choice.

“She could have given the Dog away.” Not likely. In farm country, people don’t want dogs who kill livestock. In cities, give a known biter away and you set yourself up to be sued 3 years later when (if) it rips a kid’s face off.
But it was stupid to write about it! “Shoot, shovel, shut up!” works. “Shoot, shovel, write a book about it!”? Not so much.
Agree. Do not shoot a dog. Not since Old Yeller. Walt Disney brought in his top writers and angrily demanded: “Don’t any of you ever, ever do that again in anything coming out of this studio.”

When the subject of Leftists ruining our country comes up I tend to get “nasty and mean.” will she shoot me and drop my body in a gravel pit? I bathe, though so maybe not stinking helps. Hope so.

On the other hand, had she aborted her baby in final trimester, she’s be getting a medal from these crazies.

But we put down one dog that was mean. Raised her from a puppy, same as all the many laid-back, relaxed, friendly dogs we’ve owned over the decades.
But she was mean. We finally concluded there was nothing to do but end her. Before she tried to end a kid. Psychotic? Don’t know, don’t care.
