PETA Brands Noem ‘Psychotic Loony’ For Killing Her 14-Month-Old Dog

Animal rights nonprofit group PETA has strongly condemned Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) after she recently shared a story about her killing her 14-month-old dog, “Cricket,” for his lousy hunting skills.

The story is published in her book No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward and was intended to show that when it came to politics or personal life, she wasn’t afraid of getting “messy and ugly.” It instead garnered sharp criticism from animal lovers everywhere.

“Most Americans love their dogs, and we suspect that they will consider Gov. Noem a psychotic loony for letting this rambunctious puppy loose on chickens and then punishing her by deciding to personally blow her brains out rather than attempting to train her or find a more responsible guardian who would provide her with a proper home,” PETA Senior Director Colleen O’Brien said in a statement to the Washington Examiner. “Gov. Noem obviously fails to understand the vital political concepts of education, cooperation, compromise, and compassion.

Noem decided to shoot Cricket after the dog killed a local family’s chickens after a pheasant hunting trip and then bit her when she tried to intervene. Noem said she “hated that dog” and deemed it “less than worthless” for being unable to hunt properly.

After taking the dog to a gravel pit and shooting it, she also shot a goat she owned, which she said stunk and was “nasty and mean.”

Well, she should have left those animal killings out of her book. Silence is golden; don’t tell everything you know.

That wasn't too smart of her. We're weird about our dogs. She should have known that.

America is full of whiny, emotionally incontinent morons.

And unfortunately, they vote.

If she didn’t like the dog enough to take it to a trainer she could have taken it to a shelter.

You do not take an adult dog that bites people and kills animals to a shelter to be sold to some poor unsuspecting family. What is wrong with you?

I can only conclude after reading this thread that many people are too cowardly to deal with problems and want to pawn them off on other people where they will develop into killer problems.

They will then wash their hands and say "well how could I have known the dog would have torn a baby to pieces?"

By using common sense?

LOL...there is something just horribly wrong about that, but at the same time, I kind of get it.

That’s a tough one. I try not to hold it against my brother, but it goes against my nature to tell a lie like that one. I know he wasn’t doing it to make his job easier...he was doing it, I am sure, to soften the blow for the young ones.

Bet you 10 bucks most of these bed wetters on this thread also treat animals like they are humans.

Animals, just like humans, can be completely insane for no obvious reason.

Noem is a RINO adulteress who shouldn’t be in public life since she’s a woman. But the whining about this is unhinged. You can’t have a dog attacking its master or killing livestock, especially if it’s a working dog.

Plus, in South Dakota, if you keep a dog that you know to be a human biter, you will be fully liable for all damages it causes later. If it kills a kid or seriously injures someone, you are done for legally.

Peta writes a hit article, conservatives read the headlines and agree with them.

Politician writes several books.

Liberal media finds ONE paragraph to exploit. Repeats endlessly.

Mass of people who don’t really care repeat endlessly.

What actually happened and why no longer matters.

Dogs who turn aggressive and have a bite history will be rejected by most shelters and cannot be retrained or re-homed.

Of course, FR’s own “We hate Noem” club won’t care either. Any rumor or innuendo they can use again her, they will repeat like a bunch of dyspeptic harbor seals.

Does she have issues as a politician? Yes. Is this one of them? No.

“Yes. But as has been said.... She is just getting out in front of the story.

This’ll blow over when the next news cycle begins.”

Once you get labeled by the media and public, it’s really hard to change that perception. Especially since she’s the governor of a sparsley populated state and not well known. People are going to remember that she shot a dog and a goat and that’s about all they’ll know if her

I can see the attack ad’s against her now. She’s either really dumb to put this in a book or she’s.....

Never mind, she’s straight up dumb.

I agree. There are some things one doesn’t make public. They may be justified or legal but the world doesn’t need to know about it.
