Aside from not using antibiotics for viral infections that do not have a bacterial component, I’m not sure what we can do to decrease the spread of antibiotic resistant infections.
I recently lost a cat to an antibiotic resistant infection. These things are nasty.
Is there anyone here on low dose doxy who has developed the Super bug issue? Doxy is very effective for me in reducing mmp9 but I am worried about developing resistance. I am thinking about doing cycles of it for a reset.

These included infections caused by CRAB which grew 151% during the two years of the pandemic (0.5 to 1.3 per 10,000 hospitalizations),
followed by CRE which rose 62% (1.1 to 1.8 per 10,000 hospitalizations), and CR-PA which increased by 54% (2.2 to 3.4 per 10,000 hospitalizations). “
”In contrast, during and after the pandemic, community-acquired MRSA infections declined by 10% (from 71.1 to 63.7 per 10,000 hospitalizations)
and 19% (71.1 to 57.8 per 10,000 hospitalizations), respectively.

and interactions as a result of pandemic restrictions. “

I am curious to find out if the increase was mainly affecting patients on ventilators.
Thirty some years ago, when my kids were babies, every time they got a cold, they were on antibiotics *just in case*.
Not knowing any better I gave it to them. The oldest got the most and she has the most health issues. By the time my second came along, the antibiotic resistance was starting to become an issue and they were starting to cut back on it. Also, as I became more aware of the risks, I started refusing to take them for every little thing and giving them antibiotics as much.
I sure regret that decision now but it can’t be undone.
