District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case against Donald Trump was always weak if not meritless. But that didn’t stop him from pursuing a felony case for a low-level misdemeanor that normally would have resulted in a fine that was also past the statute of limitations.
Be that as it may, Bragg’s weak case has taken some real hits on Friday, as the testimony of David Pecker, the former publisher of the National Enquirer, has been devastating for the prosecution. In fact, according to George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley, Bragg’s case is now “collapsing on its own weight."
"They have a witness who was disassembling in front of them,” Turley told Fox News on Friday. "You know, the prosecution never revealed to the jury in the direct that Pecker actually had killed stories for other celebrities that he had been working on stories two decades before the election with Trump that he was suppressing."
This is particularly helpful to Trump’s case because it means that the prosecution can't directly link Trump’s efforts to quash the Stormy Daniels story to the election.
"And now it's only getting worse,” Turley continued. “Yesterday was really bad in terms of the cross-examination for the prosecution. Today is much worse."
Pecker is saying that Trump didn't want to purchase the story. Yesterday he said that when he asked Trump while reimbursing Cohen he said he didn't know anything about that. I mean, we've always — already been complaining about the lack of any recognizable crime here, but there's also a dwindling connection to Donald Trump himself. That is what we're really seeing here is a lot of discussions with Michael Cohen, who's going to give us a really memorable moment when he gets on the stand.

Lord knows it should collapse - there never should have been a trial - but with this judge and jury who knows?!
Too much, too little, too late.
The case is collapsing due to Alvin Bragg’s weight.
But just like the E Jean Carrol so-called “rape” case and the even more ridiculous Letitia James real estate valuation case, there’s one significant caveat to all this: the partisan judge and the partisan jury. Will the weakness of the case matter to jurors who just want to convict Trump of a crime because they hate his guts and what he stands for? Probably not.
I hope this case never goes to the jury.

Merit has been wiped from the left’s vocabulary and replaced with WOKE and DEI so meritless was a given from the start.

It is not about the win or the loss for the prosecution...it is ab out how long the case can be dragged out to keep Trump from campaigning.
That is why he is compelled to be present...
That is why after one full week of trial, there has been only one witness - gotta take Wednesdays off, you know, for adding time to the trial.
This is not justice, but it is a great campaign for winning New York.
The jury isn’t there to determine if Trump is innocent.
Evidence does not matter, a hung jury is the best Trump can expect, this is NY(Lots of TDS)...any normal state judge would have thrown case out or jury decision would be acquittal.
Next Bragg will go after President Trump for having two...TWO!!! scoops of ice cream.

I agree with the article after 4 days Pecker never really said anything incriminating of Trump just lots of Cohen doing things by himself. I can’t wait for the defense to call Cohens attorney to be called as a witness for the defense since the guy waved attorney client privilege.

Exactly. This has nothing to do with the law or justice
A lawyer is supposed to know exactly what each witness is to say when on the stand. No surprises! So either Bragg is the worst lawyer for not being prepared or he did not care, just wanted Trump off the campaign trail and maybe just maybe get a conviction with NYC jury (not Trump friendly). Also explains the Judge Gag Order and must be in court order. Looking like a conspiracy to keep Trump off campaign trail……. There’s a word for that…… 🧐🧐🧐🧐 oh yeah, election interference, oh by the way that one’s illegal!
