I guess the top down armor isn’t as protective as the sloped slides and attacks from ground targets.

Nothing wrong with their top armor. It’s not being penned by drones. They’re dropping the bombs thru open hatches.

The Crews hit a landmine, which throws a tread. Without a recovery vehicle, ground support or protection from drones and arty the crew abandons the tank. Hatches are left open or opened by Russian infantry. The drones drop a weapon in thru the open hatch.

I suspect the losses are Demo-ed by RUS infantry due to the ammo bins needing to be locked open for access to stored rounds. Something a crew wouldn’t do on abandoning the tank.

They’re still recoverable tho as the DU is very durable and worth the tank. I suspect the RUS will recover some, repair them and use them in the future. The engineering and DU is irreplaceable. But the real threat is land mines. The UKRs are using them the only way possible given the low numbers -as scouts.
