In whiplash twist, Michael Avenatti considers testifying for Trump, calls trial ‘travesty’

Once one of Donald Trump’s fiercest critics, convicted attorney Michael Avenatti has been discussing possibly testifying on behalf of the former president in his hush money trial after he unleashed a tirade of criticism against Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

In X posts from his Los Angeles federal prison cell and in news media interviews, Avenatti has questioned the legitimacy of Bragg’s prosecution against Trump, even suggesting it was an interference in the 2024 election.

“There’s no question it is politically motivated because they’re concerned that he (Trump) may be re-elected,” Avenatti told The New York Post in an interview published this weekend.

"If the defendant was anyone other than Donald Trump, this case would not have been brought at this time, and for the government to attempt to bring this case and convict him in an effort to prevent tens of millions of people from voting for him," he added. "I think it’s just flat-out wrong and atrocious."

He added: “I think there’s a significant chance that this is going to all backfire and is going to propel him to the White House.”

Avenatti confirmed to the newspaper that he has had discussions with Trump’s defense team about possibly testifying at the Bragg trial, where opening arguments are set to begin Monday.

If I was Trump or his attorneys, I would be wary of trusting Avenatti. Anything Avenatti says or does is to benefit only himself. I wouldn't put it pass the DOJ to be setting this up to pull Trump into a trap. What say you?

Don’t give that Scorpion a ride on your back across the river. After all he’s still a scorpion.

That’s my initial thought also. Mama always said beware of things that seem too good to be true.

“Anything Avenatti says or does is to benefit only himself”

Certainly. He thinks Trump will get back in office and he wants to ingratiate himself with Trump.

Avenatti was featured on the TV show American Greed.

“I am in complete shock right now with everything I have been reading,” said Lara Yeretsian, a defense attorney and former colleague of Geragos. “He is too good an attorney. He knows too much to be in this mess. I was flabbergasted to see his name next to Avenatti’s.”

He is a worm

But , the enemy of my enemy is my friend

If the worm can get trumps case dismissed I would gladly offer him a pardon

But if he can’t deliver then he rots in jail

He better have something good.

I never thought of that , but does sound plausible

I hope trumps lawyers do their due diligence, because up until now his lawyers don’t show me much confidence, I don’t think trumps lawyers are any good. Only pretty that’s it.

He is obviously trolling for a presidential pardon if Trump is re-elected.

Avenetti stated earlier that Stormy and Cohen created the scheme to get scam money out of Trump. And that Cohen was having an affair with Stormy for two years prior.

The problem is that Stormy may have told him this while Avenetti was her attorney and thus be privileged attorney client communication.

I can’t imagine the damage Avenatti would do upon cross examination of the prosecution.
Nix to any deal FAST!

I don’t think trumps lawyers are any good.

What makes you think that? I'm not challenging you. Asking for information and to understand this point of view. Thanks in advance.

Anti Trump judges who forced Trump’s lawyers to violate the client lawyer privilege will order avanatti not to testify to protect Stormy’s client lawyer privilege.
