It's basically charging Muslim mortgage buyers interest, but without calling it interest.

Numbers-wise it can be fair. But IMHO it's unwise to give Muslims an inch of change in western culture (in this case Canada) because it just makes them demand more, and more, and more until they've completely removed western culture from your nation.

In the abstract, this is a good thing. It’s the government making an accommodation for religion in a manner that doesn’t interfere with anyone else’s rights. My only complaint is that the Canadian government would never do this for Christians and in fact would do the opposite if they could.

Here’s how a Sharia-compliant mortgage works:

“The Musharaka model involves co-ownership between the home buyer and the financing company. Both parties invest in a property and purchase the home together.

In a variation called Diminishing Musharakah, or the Declining Balance Method, the home buyer gradually acquires the financierโ€™s stake in the property while paying a fee to utilize the portion still owned by the financier. Diminishing Musharakah is considered the most favorable option.

In this case, initially, each party owns a share of the home proportional to the amount they contributed. Over time, the buyerโ€™s ownership stake increases while the companyโ€™s share decreases until the buyer owns the entire property.

The buyer maintains full ownership rights for the property from the start, like any other homeowner. The rights and responsibilities of each party are clearly defined in the contract, with special protections provided to the buyer that do not exist in a traditional mortgage.

The Musharaka method aligns perfectly with the principles of Islamic law as well as the goals of homeowners in the U.S., making it the most attractive option.”

MUSLIM POPULATION TIMELINE

  1. As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 2% in any given country, they will be for the most part regarded as a peace-loving minority, and not as a threat to other citizens.

  4. When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris, we are already seeing car-burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends Islam, and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam , with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam.

  5. After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues.

  6. At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, and ongoing militia warfare.

  7. From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels.

  8. After 80%, expect daily intimidation and violent jihad, some State-run ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide, as these nations drive out the infidels, and move toward 100% Muslim, such as has been experienced and in some ways is on-going in Bangladesh โ€” Muslim 83%, Egypt โ€” Muslim 90%, Gaza โ€” Muslim 98.7%, Indonesia โ€” Muslim 86.1%, Iran โ€” Muslim 98%, Iraq โ€” Muslim 97%, Jordan โ€” Muslim 92%

Sounds like an easy opportunity for Canadian mortgage lenders, realty companies, banks or Muslim self-help cooperatives to step up and do something useful.

The idea of allowing the market to solve a simple problem is of course alien to Justin Trudeau.

There are of course already banks that do this, and it's perfectly legal in the USA, UK, Canada, and the EU.

But that doesn't pander to an electoral constituency.

Paying a bigger principle?

All this does is instead of charging monthly interest, they just calculate interest over the life of the loan then dump it all in the balance up front.
