The Justice Department has reached a deal to pay approximately $100 million to 100 women and girls who were sexually assaulted by former national women's gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar.
The FBI did not appropriately handle the reports it received of his abuse of athletes.
This deal closes the books on the legal claims against the host of agencies that failed to properly respond to complaints about Nassar, and brings the total of legal payouts to almost $1 billion.

100 victims ~ $100 million. That pays almost a tenth as much as being a hostage in Iran.
That's not good enough, I want to know who failed to do their duty and what consequences they received.
The complete lack of accountability in the federal government I find astounding and dangerous.
They probably got promoted.
This scumbag may or may not have been wearing the khakis but he was on the FBI payroll as sure as the sun rising in the east.
The money should come from the FBI. The FBI authorizes books and movies etc and can easily make payments from those funds.
And not a single incompetent G-man will be shown the door...let alone even significantly disciplined.
Yep. There is zero accountability in the feral government. It’s a bureaucrat’s dream.
Whee would those funds go otherwise? Into the treasury.
Where would those funds go otherwise? Into the treasury.
They are just added to the FBI's massive spending budget. The FBI is well funded, they can easily come up with 100 million from current allocations, if they need to find cuts, so be it. I'd prefer that anyone associated with the FBI is also prohibited from sales of books, speeches or anything else unless ALL proceeds go to paying off their legal expenses.
Only, we, the taxpayers will be.
Leftists expect to ride the collapse into permanent power in the USA.
