Four Years Out, Some Voters Look Back at Trump’s Presidency More Positively
New York Times via Internet Archive ^ | April 14, 2024 | Lisa Lerer and Ruth Igielnik

a larger share of voters see Mr. Trump’s term as better for the country than the current administration, with 42 percent rating the Trump presidency as mostly good for the country compared with 25 percent who say the same about Mr. Biden’s. Nearly half say the Biden years have been mostly bad for the country.

Many of Mr. Trump’s key constituencies, such as white voters without a college degree, are particularly likely to have a fond view of his time in office. But a broad swath of the country — including Hispanic voters, voters over 30 and most lower- and middle-income voters — now see Mr. Trump’s years in office as more good than bad.

Maya Garcia, 23, described herself as a former “Trump hater.” But now, she says, she has come to believe that Mr. Trump’s contentious style helped control crime and maintain order in the country.

“When he was first running, I was, like, what is this guy even yapping about? Like, what is he even saying? Like, he’s saying all the wrong things,” said Ms. Garcia, a restaurant worker from Canoga Park, Calif. “But to be honest, if you look deep into his personality, he actually cares about the country.” She added: “You know at first I didn’t like it. But sometimes we need that type of person in our lives.”

Ms. Garcia voted for Mr. Biden four years ago but has been unhappy with his handling of the border, crime, mental health and the rising cost of living. She plans to back Mr. Trump in November.

Bet it really pained the NYT to write that sort of stuff about Trump, lol.

And there you have it. Women with common sense who don’t like to be punched in the face in random acts of violence or train for sports only to compete against mentally ill men masquerading as women.

In the American melting pot are tens of millions of black men and women, brown men and women, white men and women, old, young, middle-aged who want to work and contribute and have peace and family and gas for their cars and meat to eat and teachers who teach their kids life skills, not progressive fantasy indoctrination.

They won’t vote for Obama oops I mean Biden again. Their quality of life depends upon getting rid of the progressive plague. The ‘rats will cheat but it’ll be very, very hard to cheat enough to overcome the rising tide — and we’re on to them by now.

GOD help us! Pray. Speak up. VOTE and ENCOURAGE voting among your peers and colleagues that believe in America like you do!

This is what NYT is saying on the outside.

On the inside, it’s an acknowledgement that they couldn’t keep the BS bullhorn of fear held up against the ears of the American public for an additional four years after they had already done it for 5 years.

It is a letdown to them that the Trump hate has to be continuously ginned up at a high level perpetually, and any reduction or relaxing of the propaganda results in independent thoughts starting to creep back into (some of) the people

Agreed, and very much a good example of it being said that the best way to get rid of bad laws or policies is to strictly enforce them.

America misses $1.80/gal, no wars, inflation, or border invasions.

Let’s face it, Trump’s presidency was one of the most successful in American history. That’s why Trump and his policies and his leadership had to be demonized by democrats. A successful Trump was against everything that democrats stand for.

Now, people look back at his presidency with a nostalgic regret that he was ‘removed’ by democrats.

The ‘rats will cheat but it’ll be very, very hard to cheat enough to overcome the rising tide — and we’re on to them by now.

Don't count on it.

Democrats stuck with Biden as their candidate again, and they will argue that, Biden beat Trump once and will have done so again after the election.

Their formula for cheating and 'winning' is what they're going to use this time again, and Biden will be the winner with the same tactics. And republicans can't argue that there was cheating, because, democrats will argue again that republicans are election deniers and want to disenfranchise the voters. Republicans are afraid to argue the matter, and have allowed democrats to win those arguments.

The fix is in, but not by our side. Democrats are very confident about another win, otherwise, why run Biden again?

“Republicans are afraid to argue the matter, and have allowed democrats to win those arguments.”

No anymore. You’re referring to the McDaniel, McCarthy, McConnell wing of the McGOP.

They have been deposed. True The Vote, Omega4America and the new GOP lead by Lara Trump have a much better grasp of the data, the state voter rolls, and matters of election integrity.

Oh, and an army of lawyers is being developed for election day.

After being forced to live under the jackboots of the Bidenskyyyyyyyyyyyy crime family, I look at the Castro, Mao Tse Tung and Josef Stalin regimes more “positively”.

Oh, and an army of lawyers is being developed for election day.

Democrats have that, and perhaps in bigger numbers.

Remember that, with socialists, they will do whatever it takes to win, including massively cheating.

To the socialists, the end justifies the means.

When trillions of dollars are at stake in annual spending, and when the direction of the country is at stake, and when their ideals are at stake, democrats will do anything and everything unlawful to end up on top. Republicans don't have that kind of evil-mindedness, and evil often wins, regrettably, as demonstrated by the last set of elections and the ugly direction which the country has taken.

Definitely. The one major difference this time is the USA isn't
in a lock down like last election. If the Pubs don't get their act
together then I agree that Biden is most likely to be the winner
in the next election. And the USA gets it's first Female President.
Watching changes happen, enjoy.....

...Trump's presidency was one of the most successful in American history.

True, and that's why a poll by academic "observers of the Presidency" ranked him #41 of 44 (since Cleveland only was ranked once), ahead only of Franklin Pierce, Andrew Johnson, and James Buchanan. They had Carter at #26, ahead of Ford, George W. Bush, and Nixon. Obama is at #10. The lowest post-1900 Democrat President is Clinton at #19. Definite pro-Democrat and anti-Republican bias in the rankings.

Gee, what a surprise she swallowed the Kool-Aid and voted for Biden.

Think where we as a nation could be now if fools like her hadn’t done that in 2020.

Thank God she has apparantly learned a lesson from it.

The only blacks that matter to democrats are the LBGTQ variety. I don’t think Hispanics want to align with that.
