Retainer money he received after the recorded conversation about paying the money, which preceded the payment to McDougal and Daniels? The very same thing Cohen was sentenced to prison for?

We can resume this discussion after the trial.

I have no confidence whatsoever that Trump will get a fair trial in this Kangaroo Court.

Trying to turn a bookkeeping deal into a federal campaign finance violation is quite the stretch Braggs only stance has to be cause it’s Manhattan I just need to get this case in front of jury.

True. Campaign violations usually involve violence, not bookkeeping.

Even if everything Bragg alleges is correct it is quite the stretch to say Trump was committing a felony by wanting to keep quiet payments to women who where going to brag about having sex with the guy. Heck Congress as a slush fund to pay out mistresses in the budget.
Trump was literally on his third marriage and this affairs allegedly took place a decade ago.

Do you know it was after? I thought Cohen was on retainer beforehand, and maybe the retainer was refreshed over time as Cohen provided legitimate legal services for Trump.

But way to go completely ignoring the false citation you tried to pass off the last time.

Trump is not charged for trying to keep women quiet.

But just the fact that he did it should be enough.

Boinking women involved in porn and paying them off to be quiet about it used to be frowned upon. This website started around the time an incident similar to that.

You still passed off wrong information with the air of certainty, and accused others of not doing their research.

If I were you, I'd go back to the original thread and post a correction saying that you mistakenly thought it was about the Daniels cases, and retract it.

You are correct Cohens attorney stated in his press conference that Cohen took his own money using a lock loan and paid for it out of his own pocket. Trump just reembursed him as part of his normal retainer fees as he never told Trump what he needed the money for as part of his normal legal fees. Now Cohen is saying he did this all at trumps knowledge. Trump said he is willing to testify that is not the case.

What did I say that was not correct?

You responded to a post:

The TRUE story is that, now DISGRACED and DISBARRED former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, is who actually had the affair with porn star Stormy Daniels, paid her hush money, got her to sign an agreement.. then attempted to BILL his client Donald Trump for the $130,000 dollar payment. Trump has DENIED again and again that he has EVER had an affair with Stormy Daniels...

Yet the MSM IGNORES his continued statements of innocence.

with this post of your own:

Pure fantasy.

Now, at this point, I don't have any quibbles with you. I agree that there is no proof of the assertion that Cohen had an affair with Stephanie Clifford (aka Stormy Daniels). It's conjecture.

What we do know is that Cohen paid the money, and that Trump had Cohen on retainer for legal services. What's up for reasonable debate is whether or not Trump knew that Cohen had paid the money to Clifford, and whether or not Trump knew that the payments came from his retainer fees.

Another poster jumps in with this taunt:

you’re the one that fantasizes that all this utter ******** is true and it’s not.

why do you come here except to crap on conservatives like the typical libtard you are?

You then reply with the first bit of incorrect information:

Trump is on tape discussing the entire thing before any payment is made.

Up until now, you know that the thread is titled "Alvin Bragg Just Got Some REALLY BAD NEWS!!!" and the posted lede said "In a letter, dated 1/30/2018 just published on Truth Social signed by Stormy Daniels states, in part, the following..."

In fact, later on in the thread you remind the poster that the thread is about Trump and Clifford.

The prior poster responds with this:

Link?

You respond with this post:

Here’s the first one that came up. Plenty more available.

https://youtu.be/V6i3DGbOPOg?si=WNry4qVHOHh8fkk3

You can find others should this not suffice.

This was your main mistake.

The link you cited (and stated there are many more), which is ostensibly supposed to be proof of your prior statement that "Trump is on tape discussing the entire thing before any payment is made," which was your response to a post about Trump denying he made payments to Clifford, is not that at all.

The link you posted is audio of Trump and Cohen discussing payments that Cohen made to Karen McDougal several months earlier for an amount different from what Cohen made to Stephanie Clifford. You passed this off as proof that Trump was on tape discussing payments to Clifford.

I then jump in to challenge your assertion that Trump knew, we go back and forth, and you concluded with this post:

The game of providing links to evidence, news stories, testimony, facts etc only to have it dismissed out of hand and being insulted for doing so has been old for a long time now.

There is a reason that people do that, because you did it badly in this case. You posted a link to a story with audio of Cohen and Trump discussing a $150,000 payment to Karen McDougal as proof that Trump knew about the $130,000 payment to Stephanie Clifford in a thread about Bragg's upcoming case against Trump over the payments to Clifford.

That was your incorrect information. If you have actual proof (dozens of tapes) that Trump knew about the payment to Clifford, then you can correct the record. Otherwise, you should own up to your error and retract it.

I may be partially wrong here, so help me out.

I thought this case was only about Trump and Stephanie Clifford. Is McDougal's payment also one of the charges against Trump?

If so, then you are not wrong in your posts that Trump participated in conversations about McDougal's payment as a part of this trial, but he sounds confused about the payment indicating that he may not have known about it.

I still hold that you offered up the CBS News story to show that Trump knew about the payments to Clifford when they were about McDougal in a thread about Clifford.
