The idea that Arab states would defend Israel is not getting the attention that it should. Who would have ever thought that Saudi Arabia and Jordan would ever defend Israel?

Of 300 missiles fired, a large number were shot down by four different countries (as currently known) before reaching Israel. That shows real international political cooperation, and the C3I/C4I and ISTAR from several different nations military's working together on short notice. On the other side, the flight time from Iran to Israel and the slow speed of the Shahed drones helps defend from them.

I don't think Iran's leaders ever expected this could happen, so they never considered the possibility. This attack only succeeded in turning more countries against Iran and showing how vulnerable they really are. In authoritarian regimes, getting caught by surprise and exposed as this vulnerable is not how leaders stay in power.

couple of comments.

Abraham accords

IIRC the saudis and the Iranians have been at odds a long time. Recently Russia tried to wean SA from the US and closer to Iran, and the CP of SA hates biden and disrespected Biden by not meeting him at the airport when Biden shut down our pipeline and went east to beg the Saudis to produce more.

jordan has a history of pro west even though they demonstrate and show the muslim flag now and then. (my son was at the embassy in Amman for 9 months. When an incident occurred that effected a muslim country, they would get a call something, like this: there will be a demonstration today a 1 PM and they will throw rocks at the US embassy. The press will take photos and film for the news. At 1:20 the police will round ever one up and move them away. The marines at the embassy used to do PT with the Jordanian military along the dead sea.)

But I agree, actually defending Israel is a major development. am going to say, Trump’s fault.

I agree with you.

On some of the fringe forums, folks have been speculating that some of the arab nations were aiding Israel before tonight and they were LOLed off the boards.

I agree with the post above about the Abraham Accords isolation of Iran working.

Plus King Abdullah gets a $2billion dollar allowance fr us annually. It’s pleasant to see that he stepped up to the plate despite having his own palestinian issues.

The incredible thing to me is that it seems that the arabs are pro President Trump, peace in the middle east=despite full well knowing that means immense pressure on their energy revenues when he is re-elected.

The Arab countries are no friend to Iran. They can use the excuse that Iran had weapons in their airspace’s without permission and were neutralized without regard to where they were programmed to land. The weapons were a threat to their sovereignty and were destroyed.
