I’m constantly getting ‘suggestions’ related to things I’ve searched for or even bought. Sometimes I want something I don’t even know the name for, and try lots of different possible names. The thing I want always pops up. That could be very useful for Amazon. They’re in business to sell me stuff I want - or don’t want :-)

I have a friend that mentioned in passing to his neighbor that he liked his new lawn mower and thought maybe he should upgrade.

He walked into his house, checked his emails. While browsing he started getting all sorts of ads on lawn mowers. He had never even thought about getting a new lawn mower until he had talked to his neighbor about it 30 minutes previously. No searches, etc. His phone was in his pocket.

Useful I guess, but that is a bit concerning to me when I think of OTHER stuff “they” might be listening to when I think I am having a private conversation.
