I completely agree with your sentiment except for one thing. We are not going to go to war with China over Taiwan. Built up or not.
And the Russians destroy most of the weapons we send in place. It makes it easier for Russia and China to destroy our reserves and deplete our treasury. It is also why Putin didn’t go for a kill shot on Zelensky, even given the multiple opportunities to do so. Putin isn’t an idiot, and is playing the game.
