I grew up ion a predominantly minority area that was not exactly prosperous and shit like this happened all the time just no one around to record it and the perps usually got in major trouble if they were caught
One of the most important things my dad taught me about protecting myself was to never let them get me on the ground-happens a couple times anyway and got hurt bad those times but in time people learned it wasn’t worth the bruises, cuts, or having to watch their backs for fear of being caught alone by an armed former victim with a grudge
And back in the 80’s the cops handled things a bit differently as well
