Everybody has a right to stand their ground and defend themselves, especially in a set fight. I don’t know what the outcome will be, but I suspect the black girl will not serve any time. The father isn’t releasing the texts.
Secondly, the white girl had been suspended the previous week for fighting. So WHY didn't her parents tell her "NO MORE FIGHTS" ? They may not have known what the texts were, then, but that suspension should have made them curious and alert to the fact that something very bad was going on there.
And before anyone decides to jump down my throat, I absolutely do NOT think that she deserved getting almost beaten to death; nor beaten at all AND yes, the other girl should get jail time!
