U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin warned that recent Ukrainian attacks targeting Russian oil refineries could have a "knock-on effect" on the global energy market, Bloomberg reported on April 9.

Ukrainian forces have launched a series of drone strikes aimed at damaging Russia's oil industry. A total of 12 Russian oil refineries were reportedly successfully hit in multiple regions deep inside Russian territory as of March 17.

“The U.S. has been attempting to restrict Russian petroleum exports that fuel the ongoing Russian war in Ukraine”

I’m a little confused. What better way to restrict Russian petroleum exports than to blow up Russian oil facilities?

Btw, get a load of that pic of Austin. I think we’ll be getting a new DEI Secretary of Defense soon. Will he/she/it be wearing a skirt?

Ukrainian drones are doing the job US sanctions failed to do, and we are worried?

I thought Biden’s 12 rounds of Russian sanctions took their oil off the market?

That is something I’d never considered. If that happens I’m sure it would be revealed by the FBI that Trump paid off Putin with bed peeing hookers to get it accomplished.

Russia might tank prices to put Biden over the top. Especially if oil becomes much less expensive.

Biden Administration is really going to give Ukraine the weapons to do something and then complain about the adverse effects of it?

Wouldn’t it be ironic if Ukraine’s last gasp against Russia drove oil and gas prices high enough to end the Presidency of the neocon/deep-state’s puppet, FJB?

You're right. He looks bad. Don't think he will last long. Too bad.

No telling what is next though. Hard to imagine worse but it can easily happen from this administration.

“I’m a little confused. What better way to restrict Russian petroleum exports than to blow up Russian oil facilities? “

Seems OBVIOUS that Biden’s winning in November is FAR MORE IMPORTANT to his people (and several who post here) than another several hundred thousand Ukrainians dying on the battlefields.

Petroleum exports are fueling the war?

Who could’ve ever thought that was the case?

Does that mean the war ends the day drill, drill, drill returns to the oval office?

It can’t come soon enough between the Putin died ten times and the Russia is winning while the ruble is being obliterated crowds it’s tiresome.

He is oh so close to saying we went with climate hoax fuel policy and risked WWIII and nukes over it.

Along with Saudis. Probably not too smart of the Neocons to make enemies with the TWO LARGEST OIL PRODUCERS in the world - especially when they need their help to trick Americans into voting for Leftists again.

Gee. If only there was a massive country with huge proven oil reserves could flood the market with cheap oil....

Tough for the US to flood the market. The nature of the US oil industry is that its mainly about fracking, and that depends on investment, fairly long lead times, and high oil prices.

Unlike Saudi Arabia its not like opening the valve (its not really like that for the Saudis either, but relatively speaking).

“Petroleum exports are fueling the war?”

Certainly. And thats been why Putin has been a problem all these years. A Russia that has to work for a living would be more circumspect. Also why Saddam Hussein and the Iranians have been problems. Its giving a massive credit card to a loose cannon.

Drill drill drill is a great thing, and the US petroleum industry has done exactly that, bypassing the US Fedgov and the intellectual bien pensants. Capitalism is winning. It would be nice if the Fedgov werent so irrational, but great engineers and greed will overcome even that.

The critical thing is price. US oil production depends on high prices because US oil is expensive to produce. High US production is a consequence of high prices, not a solution for them.
